Neeld's Presser

Featured Replies

Did anybody else watch right to the end of the press conference last night, and see Neeld and Beamer bantering about Beamer's T-shirt designs?

Thought that was really interesting, that Neeld would light up about how cr*p he thought Brent's stuff was (he owns an online retailer apparently) and Beamer responded with 'you need a bit of help on that front' or something similar.

Rift? Rubbish.

I think neeld brought it up as Moloney started to talk about playing a different role, it somewhat seemed like neeld was trying to shut him up

beamer has been known to wear some pretty lame v-necked tshirts....

I've seen Beamer and Sylvia our on the town twice, both at Crown, both together.

They are truly dingbats when it comes to fashion. They look like two country boys that moved to the big smoke and try too hard to look cool. Seriously, they dress like confused Gen Y's.

But, eh, each to their own.

is there somewhere we can view the presser?

What I thought was more interesting was that when we finally crack a win, who does Neeld bring along to the presser? Not the maligned co-captains, not a member of the leadership group, but a player who this year has been dejected, out of form and seemingly odds-on to leave the club at the end of the year. Thought it sent a strong message of unity.

Thanks go out to the Demonland fashionista for their in depth coverage of Neeld's presser; I must say I found it very enlightening.

Hi Hardtack

Is the boy smiling today?

Agreed & i thought Beamer looked like a deer in the Headlights sitting there.

That's exactly what I thought. Letting everyone know that just because he doesnt currently sit in the official leadership group he is still very much considered a leader

Sure is... we even watched the replay of the last 10 minutes together again today.

It was an interesting dynamic - very student and teacher. BM would mumble something and then look at Neeld for approval. Think BM needs to stop sooking if he's upset at not being coach's favourite any more. I just hope when it's decision time he's bright enough to realise he won't get better opportunities at any other club.

Yes i agree, just watched it and i got the sense Neeld didn't want Moloney to say any more about his different role. Which was what btw? Did he play a tagging or run with role, perhaps on Stanton?

Have to say, the point of the thread wasn't to discuss the actual t-shirts. I was interested in the positive bantering that was going on between Neeld and Moloney. I couldn't care less what they actually wear...

Interesting that it was Beamer at the presser. I saw someone posted on the Melbourne facebook page that they had spoken to an ex player and put on facebook that they were leaving at the end of the season. For someone leaving Beamer seemed to love singing the song and getting involved at the club.

Does anyone here know who actually runs and sets up these clips?

If so can they be asked, please, to give the questioner a microphone so us mugs can actually hear what they are asking!

Some of the answers are absolutely meaningless without the question.

Should be pretty easy to do if they ?AFL ?Telstra can be bothered.

Beamer was a Melbourne boy growing up, and loves being at the club.

Got a kick in the guts at the end of last year and while he didn't deserve it, his club needed to do it.

As an aside, I do think a lot of players will wait until October to sign contracts with FA week and trade week turing into a month long event - plenty of time to listen to offers and sign.

And I realise I have a history with a statement like that...

I 100% agree mono.

I understand audio, but not the cameras audio. Maybe currently one mic is just directly sent to the camera, so it's all done simply with no audio mixer? If so and you didn't want the questioner on one side of the stereo and Neeld on the other, it might take 5 minutes to set up a tiny mixer to sum the 2 mics. Also if they didn't want to waste time passing a questioners mic around, a directional mic pointing AT the questioners from the podium would be okay [and perfect if out of phase with the main mic, summed, then compressed before recorded (sorry for being technical but any audio engineer'd understand and I'd love this problem to be solved too)].

Edited by Rob Mac......

he seemed to spend a bit more time forward. i think he had nearly 10 inside 50s and kicked that great running goal so perhaps that was what the coach was after

Yeah, that was Neeld not wanting Beamer to talk about his role.

It would be easy to run the question as a banner at the bottom of the screen.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
