It's times like these when the only real insight one can get into how the game unfolded is from opposition supporters.

Here's one from Bomberblitz. See if you can find a more suitable quote.

Napier Street

It's not the fact we lost a game. We [censored] lost to a pathetic team in Melbourne. I have seen them play a few times this year and they are [censored] [censored].

The server on that other football site is having trouble handling the load. Everyone loves an Essendon loss. (quote from BB)

It really doesn't get much sweeter than this. This is one game I desperately wanted to win and we've gone and done it.

My favorite on Bomberblitz is the picture of the Essendon club tie accompanied by the words, "Take care, severe choking hazard".

I was at the vic market today and the fruitman I go to was bantering with a carlton supporter and saying how we have 3 easy games and will be premiership favourites. How sweet it is. I agree I hate essendon more than collingwood and I am just super stoked.I

In all fairness I dont think Caro has said to much about us. I found what King, Sheehan and even Shaw yesterday worse and anyone else.

After the game I walked past Mike Sheehan and so wanted to say to him so how about the win makes your article look pathetic but I didnt.

What can I say, I am [censored] livid. How we let that happen is unbelievable. Two things are a major concern for me however. The constant fumbling and Melksham's performance. In his defence it was an abysmal night by most of the team, but this has been coming for weeks. Hopefully a week or two in the 2's will get his head in the right place.

Losing to Melbourne is the worst [censored] feeling in the world. Especially when they're last and a defender who never plays forward wins the game for them.

Theres this one.......

My favorite one

We've improved on last year by 27 points! Why are you all so negative?

"1st 10 mins will be tight and by half time Bombers will be well up. A mini comeback in 3rd stanza will see demons stick within 10 goals at 3/4 time break and after a few party tricks in the last it will be Essendon by 84"

post_snapback.gif

"There will probably be no sweat on the players after game lol."

"There are only two teams we haven't beaten since 2009. One is collingwood, Melbourne is the other. Time to crush them."

"Have a feeling we will still be a bit flat...cant help think there are more sore guys then we let on. We will win this week by around 7 goals but the Sydney game next week will be tough."

"I hope a few players cash in against this rabble. Stewart Crameri to kick 7 and top the goalkicking by the end of the round."

"Melbourne are so [censored] this year its not funny. They would need to play out of our skins and we would have to have an incredibly bad game for it to even be close. I find it almost incredible people think Melbourne are a chance. I think Essendon will hand out the mother of all floggings. Hird will demand an A grade performance on the G to our gameplan. 60-100pt hiding coming up."

Ah...so good.

What an opportunity. You should've! A Melbourne 'supporter' in name only.

And there was this.....

Crameri, Ryder, Hurley, Jetta, Monfries (ie, our fwd line) kicked 0.12 between them. Gah.

I had to sit behind a guy on the train on the way to the g who used the acronym GUTPN about 6 times. He then explained to his mate that it meant Give Us The Premiership Now.

Well mate, how does KMSMA (kiss my shiny metal ass) sound?

In all fairness, we at Demonland would probably have done that to any opposition supporter over the previous nine weeks too!

It reminds me of Melbourne's losses to Carlton in 2006 when they were last. Ultimately cost us a place in the top 4, I hope this loss has similar consequences for Essendon.

Havent seen any yet????

where are they??????

they were happy to tell me they were going and to be fair none exhibited anything other than some respect as we had beaten them 3 of 3 but mainly got the sympathy vote.

I was pleased to say we were possible of better things

Just got a phone call from Carlton supporter mate pleased to say I am the only bloke he knows who would have picked the DEes in the footy tipping! He is right

2024 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
