LATE CHANGES

Carlton v Melbourne, MCG at 3.15pm

Carlton: Chris Yarran and Lachie Henderson replaced in selected side by Kane Lucas and Paul Bower

Melbourne: Clint Bartram replaced in selected side by Luke Tapscott

FINAL INTERCHANGES

Carlton: Andrew Collins, Dennis Armfield, Ed Curnow

Substitute: Kane Lucas

Melbourne: Lynden Dunn, James Magner, Luke Tapscott

Substitute: Jamie Bennell

These two teams over the last decade or so have had something of a record of having upsets - we beating them when we were down (or as per 2000 QF), and who can forget the two damaging losses they gave us in 2006. Let's hope for the return of the upset.

I'm not happy about Bennell being the sub again, if he was getting a game it should be full game to allow himself to get into the pace of it. Shame Barty's missing, been a consistent contributer all year and there's no shirking the contest from him.

exactly dont understand why bennell is the someone like a rohan bail who i think adds nothing to the side should have been the sub

Good ins and outs from both teams for us .

Still cant see the light enough to call a win this week .

Behind every dark cloud theres a sh!tstorm of more darkness and despair behind it .

Spot on,Bail is our biggest downhill skiier and lays 1 tackle a game.

Maybe we could wait for the game to start before we start slagging the players?

He's in the team, give him a chance.

What an absolute BS free to Judd against Jordie - they were interlocking each others' arms.

Protected $pecies!!!!

I don't now what the hell they are going on about re Robinson into the fence - legitimately tackled inside the field of play.

The tacklers made a point of letting go of him when they reached the boundary.

Hows that for bruise free Robinson!

Loving Tapscott!

Ha ha! Brock trying to give rivers some, then Magner goes BANG! [censored] off.

who the hell is brock mclean to go up to rivers and give him a spray

get a grip brock!

another bullsh!t free right in front of goal

WTH....McDonald in the back...no free...........Ellard a free right in front for absolutely nothing.

who the hell is brock mclean to go up to rivers and give him a spray

get a grip brock!

It's called gamesmanship, they all do it. As for Robinson having a go, I thought it was funny that he went for the wrong guy anyway.

how is that not holding the ball against Kruezer?

GEES --the bloody maggots are giving the Blues absolutely every half free --- and not one to us.

But we should never have let Betts take that uncontested mark.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
