No rudder, no leadership confused young kids running around chasing tail. Massive problem. There is not a single elite player going around ie Judd, Mitchell, Cloke, Natanui ....(get the idea) that would come to Melbourne in the next three years and play under Trengove/Grimes/Neeld.

If Melbourne don't act soon we'll be stuck wth a rabble in three years and then face another 5 year plan to unravel the mess Neeld has made.

The worst thing we could do is blame Neeld for 186. People who were there and still are must be weeded out from top to bottom.

The trouble is who cleans it out from the top?....The "top" is CS. I dont want to blame Neeld for 186 but he sure hasn't brought the group together afterwards has he.

I'm now thinking that this is the main issue . Or at least the events leading up to that fateful day . Of course , we had quite a few poor performances leading up to that day but .............the attitude on the field (from that game) largely remains .

Trouble is , I don't reckon the club knows how to repair the damage . Maybe we need a spill of positions on the board . Bring a whole new bunch of people in . That new board can then judge what administrators , coaches and in turn what players remain .

We're in serious trouble and hopefully our board will recognise this and act . If that means they have to resign and allow others to run our club then so be it . McLardy has to do something - now .

i'm sorry but didnt the board act after 186, we had lyon step in in a [censored] role that he handed over, talked tuff acted tuff changed the whole FD around and put people out on there ear. so to expect change again is just childish, if we were to change everything again and not give this new arrangement a chance then that would just tear what little fabric that is left of this club to shreds, we've had greg step into what gary's role was and he's been very successful in all his other ventures and he hasn't made any drastic changes so how bout we just let things settle and stop acting as if the end is nigh. buckle up because we have to wait for our kids to lead us out of this and teach the next generation, because we have already learnt the likes of bate dunn and petterd aren't equiped to do it.

So, I agree Mc Lardy has to step in....and find out what the hell is going on. This time though he better not dont blame the players if they give him answers he doesnt like. We need a big clearing.

With you on this Macca, that they were allowed to sweep last year and 186 under the carpet at the AGM showed a club in denial as I've posted elsewhere. Until this is taken care of we are heading nowhere fast.

Sorry Scarlett but the board only half acted after 186 and you could see by the performances under Viney that nothing had really changed, and this year well.... As Tim Watson said about the MFC recently, "the fish rots from the head", well the head is still there.

Yeah , it's not so much calling for people's heads . It's more about self analysis . Does Don McLardy and his board really believe that they've done everything in their power to run our club effectively ?

Trouble is , Jimmy basically wiping out our debt has probably got a number on the board puffing their chests out . They may view themselves as doing a 1st rate job . Often boards think this way . It goes back to people never thinking they've done anything wrong . In the end , fingers get pointed , but never of an upfront nature . Thus , the Cameron Schwab rumours .

So in the end , everyone runs for cover , keeping their heads down . And nothing gets done .

well i think if the playing group have a problem with the administration i think they should harden up, what other player group in the afl, even state leagues get to pick and choose the board, sorry but thats not the way its done, you know what else, the board dont get to choose the playing list, the list manager and the coach do that, so if cs thinks he can coach, then go test the waters in the t.a.c or something and if the playing group think they are board members then retire and go prove it, let the board board and the players play its simple, they shouldn't have a problem because the only interaction they should have is

cs "we signed a new sponser today for $1million"

pg "thats great, we trained really hard today and got the most out of the session and will put in 110% on game day no matter where we play or who we play or how far down we get"

Well , I'm more talking about the board , which I believe is 8 people . All give up their time in an honorary way . Of which , Don McLardy is the Chairman/President . They're all very successful people in their own right but sometimes you just need to have change .

there has already been so much change in the FD change for changes sake isn't a good thing, I dont know much about how the board is going, apart from the debt reduction (jim stynes) what has the board actually done to move our club forward, this will answer your question to whether we need change or not.

WTF? Seriously guys. You're wanting to ditch the ADMIN when it's the players and coaches who are not performing?! Beyond ridiculous.

Personally I think Schwab in his OFF FIELD role has done a great job. Look at what he has to work with, a passionless playing group who don't give a toss about the club and get belted every week, yet he still finds sponsors, better facilities, etc.

Don't go on a witch hunt over the only part of our club that is functioning properly.

There will not be a spill of any board members from now until yrs end, Mark (Neeld) my words on this! It really frustrates me when people live in fairy land and thing it's still the 1980s where the only things that matter for a football club are the on field performances.

It's quite clear, beyond resonable doubt, that there are issue far beyond any coaches capabilities at the club. When a coach says the players aren't listening and following simple instructions, it's quite obvious that the players aren't doing their job.

So the question is: why?

Time to start seriously questioning the football CLUB as an organisation.
