tonatopia 278 Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 22 vs 22. We can win. The dawks don't have a match for clarke. So if jamar and moloney can win plenty of centre clearances and allow the dangerous Sylvia and davey to crumb off the long bomb, it gives us a forward potency similar to roughhead, Cyril and Osborne. I believe garland or frawley can stop Franklin and I would play bennell on Cyril. Mckenzie can stop Mitchell, hodge is out and moloney and sewell can do battle. Trengove should equal Lewis and jones and magner can scrap for the hard pill. Play Howe at chf, bate and dunne on the flanks for the long goal, and we have plenty of avenues going forward. We need to play tapscott for raw strength and grimes can carve up the backline. Most of all, we need to 'click'.
deestar 159 Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 I am trying not to think about it. When was the last time we got near them ? I recall giving them a hiding in 06 .... It may have been 05 (not 100%)
Deetective Sgt. Taggert 389 Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 I recall giving them a hiding in 06 .... It may have been 05 (not 100%) was that the year they drafted buddy and roughy!!! I'm sure they would thank us for it...
Dr. Gonzo 24,468 Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 See, we can't even recall when we last beat those buggers. Beyond tragic isn't it!! We smashed them on a Friday night in 2006 (about round 8). In fact here it is, we won by 75 points with Campbell Brown acting like a tool and costing them about 4 goals. http://stats.rleague.com/afl/stats/games/2006/101120060519.html I have this game on my hard drive, might be better off sitting at home and watching this on Friday as I'm quite certain the scoreline will be reversed on the weekend.

Almost 6 years to the day...of complete and utter thrashings...It makes me ill with anger, as i had to sit through the '88 GF with 4 Hawthorn Supporters who just gave it to me..And they still do....Wake Up you old Demon Bastard...C'mon F$%^k!!!!

It all sounds nice, but ignores the fact that they have game breakers all over the park and we suck.
RalphiusMaximus 6,112 Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 In all honesty I don't have that much of a problem with the Hawks. They play a really good style of football and their players work together really well. Obviously it sucks to have them thrash us, but we need to measure ourselves against sides like this to see how far we have yet to go. They did ruin my perfect tipping round last week though. Going down to the Swans I ask you...
old dee 24,084 Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 I am trying not to think about it. When was the last time we got near them ? I am struggling to remember the last time we got near anyone!
old dee 24,084 Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 I think we'll be beaten but probably by about the same margin as by Geelong, I don't think they are better than Geelong and we are playing them at the G not down at Skilled Stadium. It is their home ground too RobbieF and if we look up the wins over the last ten years I think the Hawks are well ahead including a GF win. 15 goals win to the hawks
DemonWA 3,941 Posted May 9, 2012 Author Posted May 9, 2012 If you'd taken them at the line-bet over the last 3 games, all-up, you'd now have 7.08 times your investment. This week the $1.92 line has them starting 48.5 points ahead of the Hawks. i think i'd lay out some chash on the line bet so that i have something to cheer about!
Tricky 341 Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Would be nice if both Gibson and Hodge missed, which is a chance. Clarke could bag a few. Hey Mac7, Clark has no "e". Spread it around.
binman 44,856 Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 maybe we can borrow Dermie's line in the sand and make it a line in the snow
binman 44,856 Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 By the by when scanning the thread titles quickly, a coupe of times i've read Friday night as Fright night. Bloody perceptive sub conscious!
binman 44,856 Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Hey Mac7, Clark has no "e". Nor any other illicit drugs i hope
Sir Why You Little 37,474 Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Nor any other illicit drugs i hope Haha. Sharp one there...
Demon Dynasty 17,169 Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 maybe we can borrow Dermie's line in the sand I'd love that to happen OD. Problem is, where are the enforcers? Maybe we could bring Balls, Yeats, the Febey brothers, Keogh and Jakovich back for this one lol. Even throw Jacko in to line up on buddy lol
P-man 13,367 Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 If it's under 10 goals I'll be shocked. We are amateur hour compared to the Hawks. To another weekend of misery. Cheers!

I had no choice PM...Workmates who locked me in a room...literally..Before the first bounce of '88 they knew what was going to happen....and it still goes on!!!!
stevethemanjordan 6,952 Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Rioli could potentially kick 15 on Friday night. Just a little scared.
PaulRB 6,436 Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Colin "the Undertaker" Garland will wear Rioli like a gangly glove.
pitmaster 3,592 Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Colin "the Undertaker" Garland will wear Rioli like a gangly glove. good call. my pick for the job
stevethemanjordan 6,952 Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 It doesn't matter who plays on Rioli. The guy doesn't have a weakness.
