What are you looking forward to this week ?

Me ...

Another bag from Mitch

Jones, Magner, Trengove dominating the clearances

JW roaming dominating for a bag

Jamar & Martin winning the rucks

Everyone working hard

Youthful enthusiasm

and ... Victory doughnuts on the way to the station

Go Dees !!!!!!!

I am looking forward to:

Clark kicking a few goals

Frawley giving Riewoldt a footballing lesson.... again

Winning the game, which we will.

Yip, I'm looking forward to our boys getting back to the MCG on a Saturday & matching it with the Tigers across the park.

Go Dees

* Clark taking a mark inside 50

* Our best players being (in order); Watts, Trengove, Grimes, Frawley, Jamar, Clark, Bartram

* Dustin Martin and James Magner going toe-to-toe, put a cage around them if need be, but I'm not certain who will walk out alive

* Melbourne win

Davey laying 10 tackles for the match.

Frawley dominating Reiwoldt

Our forwards actually getting some inside 50s for a change through Moloney, Mager, Jones and Baters contested ball work at the clearances (anyone calling for a forward to be dropped is missing the point).

Ricky P kicking 4.

Jack Watts 5 goal assists.

Us leading all day after jumping out of the blocks with the first four goals and winning by 27 points at the final siren.

Thanks for this. I have had enough of every Tom, Dick and Harry starting a new thread telling us how crap out club is in 77 different ways.

We know what's wrong with the club, there are people at work as we type attempting to sort it.

We need some players to return to form this week. I'll start with Jamar and Moloney if fit. Lets win some clearances.

The more I think about it, the more I reckon we can win this. Just have to make sure we actually utilise our clearances effectively and don't get killed on the rebound by Martin and Deledio.

Relax we've got this

ALthough Richmond deserve to go into the game as favourites, I am beginning to think it will be closer than people think. I am feeling more postive, but there is still some wariness.

In both games for both clubs so far in 2012, neither have been able to play their own game for more than 2 or 2.5 quarters. When both Dees and Tigers stick to their game plan and play it well the games have both been tight and close. When they have relaxed or worn out or whatever, the other sides have pole-axed them and run all over them. So my question is - who is going to play more of their own game, Dees or Tigers?

Yes, we have been really poor so far, but we have been able to stick to our game for longer in both games so far. Can Tigers beat us by playing 1 or 1.5 quarters better than us? Boys, I don't reckon they can. Chip will keep Reiwoldt to 2 goals and someone will tag Cotchin. At the start of the week I thought Tiges by 20 points.

Now - Dees by 8 in thriller.

Centre clearances if we win them all the other stuff falls into place

Couch to come in

Magner Couch Jones bulldozing the through theTigers midfield

Morton and Rivers going forward

I am looking forward to seeing a power forward roaming our forward line, an AA in the ruck, an AA at FB, the continued progression of a smattering of young leaders who will hopefully take over the side soon, and some tough accountable football from all the players.

I expect to see all of them, I will let you know when I see the last two...

The second last one begets (word of the day) the last one.

This week against the Tigers may well be a pivotal game, but I am more interested in seeing how they present themselves next week against the Doggies... it will be another emotional day and I am hoping they see this as a chance to redeem themselves after their atrocious performance against the Lions when the emotion of the day could not lift them.

Singing the song whilst i still remember the words. (i am getting older you know!!)

I am away this weekend wyl with a bunch of Collingwood and Essendon supporters.

So I think I might need to sing with you in spirit.

I will probably sing win lose or draw just to give then the _hits at least I know all the words second verse and all.

Hardtack I actually think these things have the opposite effect and so does MM.

He thought it was a major error having the on ground jumper presentations before the first game.

I think his attitude went along the lines of " keep the players minds on one thing playing the game everything else is a distraction"

Would love to get positive but I think this could get ugly. I have always been half glass full in regards to the MFC over the past 5 years and they have turned me the other way. I just can't see how our midfield will compete

I like that King is not there, He allways gets under our skin and pesters Davey and Co.

Also like the fact that I read somewhere that Richmond has been losing the clearances pretty badly (allthough they played cartlon and pies) and Jamar/Beamer could thrive on Saturday.

Also isnt it great to be play footy at the G on Saturday

Go demons

I will not be there this week Rocknroll but if that is the case it will be hard to watch. Not sure Beamer will be playing, fingers crossed

You are correct no King is an advantage

Whats hard to understand about POSITVE THREAD???

For me I really want to see Tom Couch come in and have an impact like Magner.

He has been in the top 2 or 3 at Casey for 3 weeks in a row and he has done it the hard way.

Deserves his first game he will be a clearance machine.

I reckon Magner would throw him around like a rag doll.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
