Just to follow up on and old topic 7 weeks, we still have a lot to acheive in 3 weeks

Off field

FOJ sponser still needed

Our Membership has stalled we are a little under 14,000 members away from our target of 40,000

On Field

2 more NAB cup matches good win last week, the Hawks will be another good test. Hopefully our last match is at Casey Fields.

We have seen a different style in the first 2 weeks, we will only get better, this week you expect to see our team almost at full strength. Hopefully we see Moloney, Clark, Rivers, Bartram, Trengove this week.

It is funny how your opinion can change over 4 weeks, we have got more than we expected on Field with new players getting us excited. Off Field the FOJ will happen but the 40,000 target looks a long way off

I don't actually believe we will se the our team almost at full strength this week. The whole pre-season has been about load management and i don't see any change to that this week. I believe the last NAB round wherever it is played will be where we might pick a team close to our best.

Don't be surprised to see the likes of Magner, Couch, Frawley, Garland, Jamar et al rested this week.

FOJ sponsor is absolutely critical, I understand Cam wants to get the best deal for the club but we can't go into round 1 without this being filled, it will reflect extremely poorly on the club.

Not if a big deal is close it won't. If there is no deal, then you are right.

As much I'd like a Casey game in week 4, I reckon they'll send us far away as we would've already played 2 weeks at Etihad.

Wagga?

Wang?

Actually, according to the fixture, the possible venues are:

Etihad Stadium

Simonds Stadium

Blacktown International Sportspark

AAMI Stadium

Patersons Stadium

Metricon Stadium

Manuka Oval

VISY Park

No mention of the MCG there!

Must be a printing oversight...Blacktown International Sportspark. Hahaha! That's a bit of a stretch!

Also maybe the MCG has rights for cricket all the way up until round 1, with the cricket pitches in there atm, that is why it isnt being used yet.

Although the Tri series final is in a few days, so cricket will be over yeah??? no more games for a while if i recall correctly

Still a possible shield final option.

Looks very unlikely the Vics will finish top but that may be a consideration.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89
