Misson Accomplished

Featured Replies

Oh man, I'm getting bloody excitied about next year!! My poor wife is in for a long night...

I don't know anything about the guy but from what all you guys are saying it sounds like a good get!

Where are all the Melbourne bashers who said we are too passive and are therefore weak and amateuristic ? How do you like them apples?

Looks like we are rebuilding this sinking ship after all. Very excited!

just said passed rumor to a stkilda mate who completely cracked the sh!ts.... I'm suggesting that is a good thing for us.

It would be ironic if on the back of this news, you ended up putting your back out lol

St Kilda mate of mine was very effusive in his praise of Misson a while ago. As soon as I read that he was leaving St Kilda I thought 'gee he'd be a good get'. 10 minutes later the article was amended and lo and behold! Go Dee's!

woweee, this time last week demon fans everywhere were devastated by the loss of $cully, how quickly a week changes things.

Since then a strong coach appointed and whilst letting everyone know Melbourne will be tough and hard to play against, he has shown he is not a man of words, but action signing Mission up within days. Neil Craig could be the cherry on top and things are looking up for the dees

Bring on 2012

Confirmed by St Kilda club twitter:

stkildafc St Kilda FC

David Misson today advised the St Kilda Football Club that he will be taking up a position with the Melbourne Football Club.

It could depend what skills they were looking for Neil Craig to bring. If it was for his strength as a fitness/sport science expert then this may have negated the need to get him.

We may still want an experienced senior assistant for Neeld, but we may now want one with a different skill set...

This is great news and adresses a big issue we have had for a number of years. We need to keep our best 18 on the park. With young players you expect them to miss games but they are coming into 3-5 seasons their bodies should start to be able to cope with playing AFL footy. Like any club if you can go from using 38+ players in a season to around 30 you will have a good year.

Wouldn't say I am asexcited about next year as much as I am about 2013. This is a great get for the club which along with the natural development of players should see big benefits for our boys.

All the talk over here in WA when Ross Lyon came across was the hope he would be bringing David Mission over with him. They say a week is a long time in footy I like what Garry, Schwab, Mclardy and the board have done. Kept everything in house no leaks and would not comment on any of the coaching rumours, very professional and now we can see a lot was being done behind the scenes.

Forgotten all about the doom and gloom people were talking up when a former player followed the big schilachos on offer last week

2011 may well have been the kick in the guts we needed

We're really making a fist of it arent we.

Its as if weve decided to stop stuffing around and get serious.

Starting to feel the same thing myself.

.....and not to mention the bullet(s) we dodged

More Excellent work by our CEO i am thinking.

Caroline Wilson, your articles about Cameron Schwabb over the last 12 months are starting to look very flimsy.

As was your Ridiculous editorial on Footy Classified last night.

You're right, it looks as though some of areas of weakness are starting to seriously be addressed..............wonder how Bails feels about this!

Good to see my Grand is being used wisely....Everyone Donate to the 100% Melbourne Fund if you can...This is money for our Football Dept.

I cant for a minute speak for him but judging by some of his recent commentary since departing I think hes got a genuine soft spot for us. ANd why not .

We can all look back and wonder why some things werent done sooner and such but I think in his own way he'll wish us luck, as I do him.

As another poster said, I've not a clue who he is until today, but from the word here, it is a very good get. Roll on 2012 :)
