I meant an experienced smokey... Matthews etc. Something outside the box.end of the market is very narrow

That end of the market is very narrow. Mathews has no passion for the cut and thrust any more...its all cushy cushy and thas fair enough

Gary Ayres would be a very smoked smokey ,then there's..... ummmm..

I think this is very simple Math this time round. Reaching to the top shelf theres not to omany to choose from.

Leigh Matthews with a Scott burns type as assistant maybe.

Just what I was thinking! This is purely left field thought but Matthews would bring a similarly high profile angle to the club as Roos. Although I don't think he and Mitch Clark see Eye to eye...

Matthews and Ayres, I wouldn't be crying in my coco pops.

Unfortunately i can't see any way we could convince Mathews, a coaching panel with Williams, Ayres, craig and Ling would be fantastic though!

The thing is I want a Winning Melbourne to bring the higher profile for the club. I want a good coach to bring the wiinning....not the profile.

If we win , it will come.

Couldn't agree more, our new coach needs to get the boys excited, they're talented players, get a few wins and a few blokes might re-sign and the feeling can change very quickly,

while i understand we have been awful this year, i don't agree with the perception we are in a deep dark hole that we can't escape, the right coach will get us playing much better football in 2014. That might not mean we play finals, but it may well mean that we have a reason to get excited about going to the games again, the boys get excited about their association with MFC, and Demonland might be a much nicer place haha.

Would it?

Instead of throwing talented individuals at a problem and finding roles for them later, we should define the role and attempt to get the people that suit that role the best.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
