Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Casey Scorpions v Northern Bullants

KC from Casey

Recommended Posts

Courageous Casey Scorpions captain Kyle Matthews, who suffered head injuries including a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain after an attack outside a Hawthorn hotel in March, 2010, is set to play his first senior game since the 2009 VFL Elimination Final in his team's last home and away game against the Northern Bullants on Saturday - Mathews Ready For Return.

The result of the game to be played at Casey Fields will determine which of these teams is to earn a final four spot and a qualifying final match up against undefeated ladder leaders Port Melbourne.

The Bullants have an advantage in that their AFL alignment partner Carlton has the bye allowing them to load up with one or two players who might otherwise be playing at AFL level. With a couple of suspensions at Melbourne, it means that one or two Demons from Casey's winning team of last week against Werribee should receive a call up. However, home ground advantage should also play a part in what is likely to be an intriguing battle.

Thanks KC.

Really is a brilliant story that Kyle has been able to come back from this to make it back into the seniors. The Scorpions sure have missed his leadership out on the park aswell as his grunt and contested work in the middle over the best part of 2 seasons.

Another thing that shouldn't be forgotten also is how well the Casey FC have played over this time, with the departures of players like Silvagni & Faulks to compound the loss of Matthews through injury. James Wall really has been fantastic stepping up in Kyle's absence and Casey have been great with the support they've shown Kyle.

Fingers crossed Kyle plays a good game on the weekend and Casey can notch a win for him and secure that all important double chance.

It is fantastic to see him play but the timing in such as critical match for positioning in the finals leaves me a little puzzled. Just hope Fev rises to the occassion and shuts up a few more Demonlanders whom are negative towards him.

Good question, not on the injured list and not selected in the firsts or reserves.

He is injured. Check last weekends Casey matchday threads.

He didn't even start the game last week. Might explain why he is playing in the reserves recently.

I didn't see much of the Ressies but I did notice Juice on the bench late in the final quarter with a heavily iced knee but this could be precautionary in the case of a player coming back after a fairly long lay off.

Joel Macdonald appears to be the only emergency not out there in the pre game warm up.

The Bullants finally score a goal but co-skipper Matthews is inspirational for Casey on return and scores his third goal for the game. The visitors who went in with 15 AFL listed players are sagging in confidence. Mohr, Davis and Warnock are starring in what is an almost inpenetrable defence.

The long second quarter finally ends with a goal to Petropoulos. The Scorpions have blown the Bullants away with a nine goal quarter. Totally unexpected as Casey went into the game with only 10 MFC listed players.

Casey Scorpions 4.6.30 13.8.86

Northern 3.3.21 5.3.33

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to
