And your willing to judge a highly respect MFC football player Tom Scully, on subjects relating to Tom Scully, when he has expressed his view and desires

And praise a Carlton and GWS stalwart in relations to Tom Scully when Tom Scully has made his stance clear, as a current MFC player

Nice

What Im willing to do is take a real Melbourne football club champion ... The Ox ... at his word.

Particularly when his version of events is corroborated by GWS (Silvagni) themselves.

What did other Demonlanders think about the incident where, I think it was Sylvia, did a long , well weighted pass from CHB up the centre for Tom to run on to with the flight. There was a (fairly distant) Eagle player coming from the opposite direction. A small hesitation, and the opportunity was lost. Some may say that self-preservation was sensible. But Brad Green, Jared Rivers,Clint Bartram etc, would have marked that ball.

It made me wonder about our big money offer......and hope it's not accepted.

Massive shirk! Was very dissapointing, had a look didn't go back hard enough. morton has been slammed on here for being soft, this was as bad as anything he has done.

That Ox is now solely a member of the media. The fact he played for Melbourne makes no difference in this matter.

Just like Flower or Barrassi, it makes him no less real of an MFC champion.

And it does matter when people attack his credibility, particularly when its backed up by someone who should know - Silvagni.

Its easy, probably far too easy, to scoff at journalists comments. Not so easy to dismiss the words of two reputable greats of the game.

So what does one legitimately read out of it. ?? I dont think the kids afraid of much. He'll get in amongst it when he there or needed. But that sort of occasion allows a person just that little longer to think about things.

Was his heart in it? Now some are going to slang me for that...but its a fair question. If youre not really in the zone, or feel like you paricularly ought to be somewhere then people often draw a line. Did he ?

I love the OX, great to listen to but really, as a reliable source when it comes to TS contract??? who the hell would tell him that sort of information???

More likely that he jumped on the bandwagon when everyone else was spruiking it, 3rd or 4th chain of supply i would suggest, even if he is proven correct

I have had enough of this Tom Scully stuff. I have stayed silent but it has come time to get the facts out. Scully has signed with Melbourne and is on $600,000 a year. I will answer no questions on this and if anyone continues this post, I will personally stick my hand through the computer and ring your neck.

Good stuff Diamond Jim.

I suppose it's in order to close this thread now?

Should Scully make the decision to leave us for GWS ,

Does anyone know if we can get Johnathon Patton(Tipped to be no1 draft pick) as compo .

This would straighten us up .

And make it all Ok

and help us all sleep well .

(The next Johnathon Brown)

Please answer if this is a REAL possibility as a compo pick for TS

Patton or no deal i say .

It can't possibly happen this year, unless he miraculously lasts until our draft pick, ie. it won't happen.

Ok?

So it looks like no deal...

Are you talking about the bloke who's not even 100% sure?

So much so that he has been coming out with silly percentages in an attempt to appear certain, but if he was certain he'd just say 100%?

Come on Range Rover, try to come up with at least 1 decent argument.

I just fee a bitl sorry for you now.

How will YOU feel if Scully signs on to stay at MFC?

This is the thing that gives me the irrits about this. Any old rumourmonger in the media is considered gospel, but the word straight from the horse's mouth isn't good enough.

Also, I'm not sure why I'm posting this as I'm pretty sure I've posted the same thing about 10 times in this thread now.

How long do I have to remain sober for before I'm allowed to post in the "not a Scully" thread?

I'm going to ask a question anyway

When will the deal be announced.

Guest The Tweed Pig

Scully has had a very injury interrupted season, is still small, and must have much on his mind. That said, Gubby Allan must be nervous as hell, cos right now he looks like a turkey. Scully wouldn't be in the top 200 players in the league, but he'll just about be the hghest paid player. Pretty funny really.

And yes, I have faith that with an injury free run Scully will prove his worth, but the facts are that if he leaves Melb he will have left after giving us absolutely nothing. He'll be a really good player when fit, when stronger and when he makes better decisions. And he will deliver on these aspects.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo

    WELCOME 2024 by Meggs

It’s been hard to miss the seismic global momentum happening in Women’s sport of late. The Matildas have been playing to record sell-out crowds across Australia and ‘Mary Fowler is God’ is chalked onto footpaths everywhere. WNBA basketball rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has almost single-handedly elevated her Indiana Fever team to unprecedented viewership, attendances and playoffs in the USA.   Our female Aussie Paris 2024 Olympians won 13 out of Australia’s all-time record 18 gol

    EPILOGUE by Whispering Jack

I sit huddled in near darkness, the only light coming through flickering embers in a damp fireplace, the room in total silence after the thunderstorm died. I wonder if they bothered to restart the game.  No point really. It was over before it started. The team’s five star generals in defence and midfield ruled out of the fray, a few others missing in action against superior enemy firepower and too few left to fly the flag for the field marshal defiantly leading his outnumbered army int
