Scully and his managment have a great opportunity to sign with MFC this week or next - what a show of faith in us at a time of geat need.

Some mischief makers may try to align that with Bailey's exit but Scully could easily refute that.

Haven't you heard?

His signing is conditional on Schwab being sacked, a massive 3rd party deal (negotiated by our CEO to be, whoever that may be) and Big M releasing a new flavour in his honour - Spearmint (cos it's greeeeeeen).

Oh, and he wants a helicopter.

Darn, I was searching for Neil Diamond's 'Hot August Night' and cha-ching, what do you know it, Scully pops up.

Good to see you're collecting the set anyway, old55.

I always wonder about the "he's going because he's upset about a particular administrator/coach" lines. How does he know where he's going it won't be worse? If he goes he's going to be roundly criticised by MFC supporters, the media and the general footy public, probably, and abused for his whole playing career. That seems like a large cost to pay to solve a petty issue.

As RR rightly(!) said, if he leaves it will be a business decision, not because of some trivial thing he's cracked the sads over.

Sheeds and Gubby! Unthinkable!

I'm starting to get annoyed at all the comments that his family are not happy with this and that. Have heard them all season. Sounds like they may be like those stage/tennis mums and dads who meddle too much.

And if anyone at the club did rumour monger and manipulate to get us favourable compensation then it would be a good thing it was done as it suggests he must know TS is gone and is trying to eke out the best outcome for us.

If this latest Scully thread doesn't resolve itself in either a signing or resignation then I am going to poke both my eyes out with a fork.

Thank god there is only 4 rounds left of this season, and therefore only 4 more weeks of this Scully rubbish.

Or it could just be horse poo. Hard to believe I know, but just maybe...

Well then they must be true!

Same goes for the second line too!

Double facepalm.

It is my opinion that is exactly what happened.

That radio interview Schwab did with the Ox a few weeks back had "staged" written all over it.

Lo and behold compensation for Melbourne became the hot topic throughout the next week in the media.

People scoff at 'conspiracy theories' but the truth is they actually do happen occasionally. And this one isn't as fanciful as some would have us believe.

I wish... just wondered how no one mentioned in the media for two months then everyone had a reliable source that knew he had signed.

Well, because Gubby heard the rumour and decided to repeat it, but only off the record.

I think that most people would agree that the Tom we saw on the weekend isn't worth $1M per year and he is nowhere near the level of Judd. That not to say that in 2 years time he won't be well on his way.

But when has any one ever been offered a hugh contract on anticipated or 3 year potential. Just seems off to me.

Think of the pressure that will put on Tom if he does take the deal? It's lucky he would be in Sydney becuase in Melbourne, the knifes would be out alla Jack Watts.

H'es a kid playing football, go or stay good luck to him.

It seems that he has already had an impact at Melbourne becuase they are addressing in house issues that may not have been bought to light had they not had so much on the line with the symbolism of his departure.

Go dees the only way is up becuase I think we have already hit rock bottom.

Don't count on it. We will be talking about it until when he's "made a decision". They there will be the post Scully recriminations. Then there will be discussions on every high and low he has at GWS next season. Should be good grist for the mill for at least another 18 months.

There's only one Judd - he is a freak - he played something like that in his 2nd year. As someone accurately observed he's like a white pointer in a school of fish.

OK so hypothetically if this happened why does he have the right to be angry?

I am not saying anything definitive one way or the other, especially not in this thread, but Schwab's job is to take care of the club, yes?

So at a basic level he has two things to do here, get Tom an offer, which was done and is reportedly very attractive, but he also has to make sure we are covered if Tom does decide to go after all.

And there has been a year of this conjectured tussle and that was completely on Tom's timetable, to a lot of chagrin. So the question is what does he think was going to happen?

So if there is any alleged malcontent on this theoretical front from the Scully camp.....tough nuts  !!!

Queenie Queenie Queenie...you ought to knw far better than to start using logic and common sense. Now go sit in the naughty corner ...go on...off yo go.

And dont come back til you can offer up something more akin to "hes the mesiah, we're never going to win without him, hes Judds lost cousin"

Consider yourself chastised !!! :)
