Listened to his press conference.

I reckon he is the big smokey.

Got balls, dropped Sylvia and Jurrah.

He is all determination, dosnt give a fcuk about pretenses.

No more pre-madonna's at this club. Hit the ball hard or fcuk off.

I AM GLAD TO BE MELBOURNE AGAIN!!!!

Great, but the selections are a little baffelling

Jurrah - has played some shocking footy in 2011, but even when he plays badly seems to get goals.

Sylvia - if it's an attitude thing, fine, but having a decent year stats wise + our only goal kicking mid

Bold moves, but doesn't it move us further from winning this week? Make the statements, put players in their places, but we still have a chance to put ourselves in finals, not just a mathematical chance but one that is ours to grab. Sure the season has been a disspointment but it's about winning games - not ensuring we finish 10th

This game is about making a statement of the type of Footy we gonna play future. A BIG statement.

That is more Important than the 4 points this week.

This game is about our future, our 2012, 2013, 2014, et al... sending a message to the Footy world!

I like the decision to drop Sylvia and Jurrah - a statement had to be made. I liked his press conference. But I don't like our chances.

I think all we can ask for is 100 percent effort and that seems to be what Todd is demanding. Good on him.

A lot of Jurrah's goals this year have been kicked in junk time.

We seem to be assuming Jurrah's been dropped for performance reasons?

Maybe his frame of mind following the past few days could have something to do with it. Personally, I think it's about time he had a run in the magoo's in the hope he finds some form.

This is the game to win. Beware of the wounded beast.

We WILL be very tough and competitive this week even though the task of winning MAY be beyond us. I just hope that people won't get on Todd's back even if we have a substantial loss.Conversely, if we did pull off an unexpected win we shouldn't hail Viney as the coach supreme. It takes more than one game to evaluate the skills of a new coach.

I hope Brad Green is listening to Todd and not the foot steps of younger challengers to his spot

IMO Jurrah's been badly handled this year.

RudeBoy has hinted a few times that he needs to be "let off the leash". It's like all the X-factor has been drained out of him. And if he's been carrying a lower leg injury for several weeks, he could have had a spell long before now.

Silvia has been lazy IMO.

It will be interesting where Todd plays Tapscott, Davey, Green, Bate, Dunn, Strauss & Martin/Gawn (when not rucking).

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
