maybe he is implying that the game on Saturday was tanked and not an issue 3-4 years back.... it did seem odd that the senior players had such few possesions....

Why that tanked? well thats another issue!!

Yes OOze..some of us remember ;)

Seems to be a cultural thing with Melbourne players.

Sad Yze has come out and said this. I think Robbo has set a good example. He was vexed after being axed, and had a few little things to say in the press. Eventually after other clubs felt the same, he accepted his fate and came back to the club. His game day work is always professional and he really adds to the home games at the MCG.

Ooze ranks with Bruce for serial under performance on a lucrative contract.

Ironic really - particularly given that Bruce and Yze were club leaders for much of the past decade, and their softness/selfishness respectively probably contributed to people's perceptions of the MFC's 'soft club culture' more than any suggestion that we tanked.

If Yze posted that comment, I find it absolutely pathetic. Junior and Neita aside, many of our senior leaders over the past decade were selfish front runners who directly contributed to people thinking we have a soft, losing culture.

Thankfully we have players like Beamer (and the younger brigade) now coming through.

Well said. Robbo has done a fantastic job at the club, helping out where he can. All players don't have to do it but for Yze to say on twitter at the time he did was disappointing. Not going to have a go at him presonally because I loved him as player. Some people are being very harsh on his career.

I was actually told by Yze himself that Robbo was dirty on the Club, and still believes he can play AFL-level football. While I haven't seen any of his work at our home games (except for his duet with Olivia Newton John), I'm not fully sold that he has come back with wings on his back.

Very disappointed with Adem. He did tell me that a few of the senior players (when he was one) were disappointed with the fact that players were getting played becuase of their draft number rather than form, and that it stuffed the culture at the club. But, one thing he did say that after the initial shock of being tapped on the shoulder, Junior was more than comfortable with the decision, and was just annoyed (mainly with himself) that he didn't make the first move.

Would love Lyon, Stynes & co to get hold of that Tweet from that Twit.

So... if it was Yze, it is 100% correct... because he's a past player, and therefore anything he says is gospel...

But if it's not him, then it isn't..?

You're a smart fella...

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
