For those who missed it:

- Made no excuses for today's performance. Said it was a terrible day for all involved at Melbourne.

- Said we do implement the forward press contrary to popular opinion.

- He gets most frustrated with the fluctuations in contested possessions on a weekly basis.

- Thinks Jack Watts will end up a stay at home FF.

- Maintained that he thought Scully would stay. Rubbished Schwarta's "98% sure" remark.

- One of his favourite lines "getting games into the young kids" was mentioned a few times.

Anyone else watch it and want to add anything I've missed? I thought he was OK, but his usual deadpan self for the most part.

Although we had less ball we held our own for the the first and third but did not get any momentum on the scoreboard. We were pantsed in the second and fourth.

Calrton is a good template for us.

They were the most pathetic team in the afl for no less than 5-6 years. They were bottom 4 each and every year and even they started ahead of us in terms of personelle. Yet in 2009 and 2010 they finally started to show some improvement, sneaking into the 8 without winning a final. 2011 they're top 4 and now they'll be challenging for the next 3-4 years at least.

There is absolutely no reason we can't sneak into finals 2012 and 2013, then challenge for top 4 2014 and beyond for the next 5-6 years.

I considered this year is continued development (too many young guns still <50 afl games), and we are actually pretty on track in people actually sat back and looked at the big picture, instead of experiencing the roller coaster of emotions of worrying what happens on a week-by-week basis in a development season.

1. Our players can't get through a press

2. We don't win the contested ball every week

3. Our players can't apply a press/forward pressure to turn the ball over up the ground.

Even against Essendon it was 60 Inside 50's to 45, when we won the game pretty comfortably, that tells me the game plan isn't right.

Point number three contradicts your last line. We harassed the bombers and created turnovers in our forward 50. But we didn't the hunger against the pies.

Just on what Bailey said - he mentioned he is most disappointed with the fluctuations with the application and effort of the players from week to week, shown in the contested possies.

A different coach may engender more consistency.

But that doesn't excuse Green and our senior players.
