Goddard had 24 handballs. Mostly on the half back line, in a panicked motion to a team mate because he had no idea what to do with the ball. He wasn't that good

Riewoldt although had lots of the ball was well held by Frawley.

I thought Gwilt had 5 good minutes in the whole game.

I think it was more a case of there being NO standout damaging players, so the votes were given based on stats.

It was a fairly lacklustre match devoid of any flair.

Yeah, well & truly.

I assumed their identity and I also assumed where the single votes went, as they were interchangeable (as always).

I thought Gwilt had 5 good minutes in the whole game.

I'm pretty sure those were the 5 minutes he spent playing on, and out-marking, Michael Newton. Tough ask that.

When Watts was playing against him he tore him a new one on the lead.

Disgraceful voting.

One thing for sure was that St Kilda's half back line got on top somewhere, so one of the coaches may have been keen on Gwilt. How can we even know it was Bailey who went 3 votes for Martin and/or 1 for vote Gysberts.

St Kilda certainly seemed to consider Martin a threat by half time. They put a lot of effort into teaming up on him after that, getting someone to make sure he couldn't leap and having a third-man-up at most ruck contests, as well as others protecting the third-man-up from getting blocked. They are past masters at covering up for deficiencies by using solid & disciplined team structures.

    REDEEMING by Meggs

    It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.
