  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Adrian Anderson to pass judgement on our Boys

Recommended Posts

Football operations general manager Adrian Anderson wrote to the club under AFL player rule 23.18.2, which covers criticism of a tribunal decision, and asked for a response by 12pm on Friday, May 13.

The rule states, in part, "No person subject to these rules shall make any unfair, unreasonable or excessive public criticism of a tribunal decision or of any tribunal member or any other matter touching upon or concerning the tribunal or a determination made by it".

Anderson has complete discretion in deciding whether the rule has been breached, with any sanctions levelled at the players and/or the club also at his discretion.

Lets see..Fair ?? Theres nothing fair about any of this so we can dispense with FAIR

Unreasonable ? The was no allowance for reason in any of the MRP's deliberations... so we can dispense with UNREASONABLE too

Excessive ?? You could argue they were very economical with words...and so hardly EXCESSIVE

not rreally sure what they have to answer for.....unlike the MRP !!!

Nothing unreasnoable about any of those words....Anderson must be taken down, along with KB.

Petterd's word wasn't unreasonable ?

If you're going to emphasise a word WYL using a different size, at least spell the word right. You even edited your sentence !

You've been obsessed with KB for what seems like for ever. If you don't like him....

Well said.

Bartlett runs out of media boxes when Cam Schwab comes a calling and holds a grudge for 16 years. Pathetic. Yet he is then entrusted to be part of the rules committee that govern the game.

Yes & that is exactly the way KB played, he was the Widest receiver to play the game, not to say he didn't play his role well, but KB never had many grass stains on the shorts.

I doubt he ever laid a hard tackle in any of his 400 games, he had Neil Balme, Roger Dean & Mal Brown to do that for him!!

KB ran up the race at high speed during the Windy Hill Brawl in'74 and waited in the rooms whilst the most vicious of all in's occurred!!!

I'd like to pass judgement on anderson. Incompetent, hopelessly out of touch with afl fans and a total dipstick. And if the Afl administration had any accountability whatsoever, he would have been the one suspended - for good.

Seen as though Trengrove was screwed royally on a weak technicality, one could argue that Ricky's tweet "Bullsh*t" wasn't technicly aimed at anyone/anything in particular. Made no mention of Trengrove or the MRP.

His word may have been unreasonable, but what was Ricky referring to? Maybe he disagreed with who was kicked off MasterChef that night?

He simply saw a cow deficate.

Adrian Anderson should just walk away from this one.......no point angering the football public/fans any further. The AFL is losing credibility by the second. Hammering guys for their twitter remarks (which IMO were harmless) is just rubbing salt into the wound. An unnecessary wound I might add.

Walk away Anderson, or forever be known as a piece of [censored] rot.

It's not what bothers me, it is what the AFL deems "unreasonable".

Note the spelling.

It's quite obvious what the AFL are referring to, those in denial will simply ignore.

I find it hard to understand how the AFL have the power to impose a fine, suspended or otherwise, on a player for tweeting the word [censored].

This is, in my opinion, way beyond any authority these officials have.

They would say that he was abusing the AFL decision and that is a no-no.....

Which is what he did, but you have a very good point.

I agree...The Fat Controller has certainly ramped it up hasn't he....and now with the Putrid new Broadcasting Rights, you can bet your life, that if the players get a larger slice of the pie...the Scrutiny will tenfold what it is now.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
