Tapscott's hit behind play

I saw the reply and it was not much but he gave a decent hit off the play when the player was not ready for it. Could get a week for it.

This kid is big, he loves himself and he is arrogant. People behind the scenes say he is arrogant very confident, but by god I love it. No one else did anything last night but he tried to enforce physical presence on the field and we needs more kids like him. Enough of this crap being pushed around by other teams.

There was no high contact but would guess a one game suspension reduced to just carry over points with a early guilty plea if he is sighted...

I only seen it the one time and did not think there was much in it.

Then genius Quarterofabrain starts up with his "I think he could be in trouble," and then mentioned more crap later in the game.

Just venting, but I cannot stand that bloke.

Thankyou, rant over.

I cannot stand that bloke.

The general opinion :)

Quarterbrain is an idiot and I'm happy to see all of the TV rights go to Seven so that I don't have to listen to him.

Bull will be incredibly unlucky to get a week.

There was really nothing in it... low contact, medium impact, reckless possibly... that's not a week is it?

i remember when i used to like him after i heard he fronted up to Van Damme after he hit on his woman

then i heard him in consecutive GFs - bringing absobloodylutely nothing to the game!

The hit was just as bad, if not worse than Rioli's hit on Jones - which he copped a week for. Might be lucky that unlike Jones, the bloke Tappy hit didn't stay down like he got shot.

Hope you're not inferring Jones took a dive. If Jones stays down, you can be certain he has been hurt... don't forget, he's the guy that wanted to get back on the field after breaking a bone in his back last year. Pity we don't have a few more as hard as he is.

If Daniel Jackson can get a week for a deliberate elbow to a guys head with his bad record Tapscott will probabaly get 2 weeks! Really nothing in it and just a typical overreaction from a commentator.

I am all for protecting players but if he gets cited it just goes to show how over the top the system is getting.

On a side note, how did Scarlett even get cited last week for a legitimate spoil. He smashed the guy in the process, fairly, but cos it looked rough we better look at it. So annoying how you cannot touch anybody these days without giving away a free kick or being reported.

A week would be harsh.

Cant stand Quarterbrain

Josh Kennedy for WCE did the same thing last year in a NAB Challenge match against us and bumped Sylvia and broke his jaw.

I remember how they didnt capture the footage of the bump, so Kennedy got off suspension, then a couple days later the footage of the incident was released. Bizarre!

If Tappy gets weeks just shows how screwed up the AFL tribunal is.

At worst a free kick.

Can't believe it's even being discussed.

He is my uncle and I still concur. Gives shocking Christmas Presents too.

Are you serious? Rioli used his fist and punched Jones in the ribs whilst not in play.

Rioli wanted to hurt Jones. Tapscott wanted to block.

Nothing in it at all.

He laid a bump that was 100% legitimate in football in every way except it was more than 5 meters away from the ball at the time (say 10 m). As a result it probably should have been a free kick. All this talk about low/medium/reckless/intentional etc only applies if he commits a reportable act. In this case the contact was legal so none of these apply.

If you applied those things to every contest in the game people would be reported all the time. Think a typical high tackle - high contact, reckless action, low impact. Everyone would get 70 points every week just for turning up.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
