How Excited are you by the NAB cup game tonight out of 10? And give your reasons why or why not?

results could be interesting...

I'm keen to see how much players have improved in size and fitness from last year...Plus see new talent coming through...

And the cricket season was a shocker...so i've been hanging for the footy!

there was a replay on of the collingwood round 2 game the other day, and i have to say i was getting a little tense, even found myself yelling at the tv a few times....

Im getting pretty antsy

Not really. It seems a bit too Micky Mouse to be able to really take anything away from it. I guess just watching the lads kick the footy around will make it worthwhile but other than that there isn't much there for me.

I think you can take something away from it in terms of young players form but not really anything from the result. Having said that im hoping we are very competitive.

I voted just 5. NAB cup are just warm up games. No reflection on the real season. Also we are well below par because of our usual spate of injuries. As Jaded said the injuries are at it again. Grrrrrr

Not sure about these comments if you guys are giong to the game or are in Victoria?

But bloody hell I have waited ages to watch football again and watch my team. Forget about analyzing it to much or what we can take out of the game, I just can't wait for the feeling of watching the boys play.....

Is that you Dean?

Not very excited but I am keen have a first look on how the players have developed over the off season. Players of interest to me are Bennell, Dunn and all of the fringe players.

Highlight of my week, which says more about my week than the actual game mind you.

But footy is footy and watching Melbourne play is always awesome (2007-2009 aside).

ha, i have been waiting for tonight's game all week...just want to see the red and blue!

we are supporters....we follow the boys week in week out...win or lose...sunrise-sunset!

reasons why not:

A)Scullygate

B)We have a severely weakened side and thus will probably be smashed

C)The NAB cup is always a bit rubbish with the dodgy rules and everything

Hehehe you need a night out J, but i do concur watching the Red & Blue is totally awesome!! B)

Hanging out to watch footy. Just want to watch the new guys, especially Howe, and see how others are going. Hope to win so I can see the next game. Unsure as to where we go if we dont get through, but flashbacks of the Adelaide pre season match in Whoop whoop last year make me want to be at, or at least see the next game.

I rated a 7, but would most likely be exited about watching footy again, even if it was not us playing. Dee's in first match is just a bonus.

I'm very excited as I'm looking forward to seeing the new recruits going around and to see how Strauss and Blease go. I'm also a little excited about the Sydney/GWS/GC round as it will be interesting to see where those teams are at... I hope Scully is watching as it may help to give him some sort of perspective as to where he would sit in a side like GWS (that is, bottom of the ladder).

Even that was awesome for me, just love MFC

I'm ready to go!!!

Can't wait! Hurry up five o'clock......

Voted 6. 4 points of which derives from the fact that there will be some sort of AFL being played on the weekends now for the next month. 2 of which comes from seeing some of our young guns (mainly Blease) running around.

But really, whatever happens tonight, it's Round 1 I want.

For all those that aren't excited and don't really care, I suppose you'll be watching something else then ???

Are you a Demon tragic,

Quick Test ??

Whats a Demon tragic do during the off season when there is no football?

1/ Watches replays where only we win !!!!

2/ Pines over all the Matches that we could have won

3/ Wear your team colours on your sleeve at all time

4/ All of the above

Are you looking forward to tonights game even though its only the Nap Cup

Response

4. All of the above

Reasons for watching tonights game

2 Want to watch them play

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
