Demons Nickname list (Official or Unofficial)

Recommended Posts

Hi Demon desciples,

I Am new to Demonland as a poster anyway & glad to be a part of it!

Ive been reading Demonland for years, especially for the offseason Demons fix I crave daily and have to say I love the passion for our club here at Demonland.

I see a lot of banter mostly good natured and humorous and I love that we have older generations and younger generations posting.

Also glad to be a part of the 20k+ Demons membership! 23 years straight!

I am starting to get a bit excited...like all of us for next season..Liam with a full preseason..Chip the all Oz...Jamar the all oz...

All the young stars in the making (So many)..Bloody bloody exciting...no debt...new emblem which I think is great & modern.

Lets face it...yeah, we are at base camp but bloody hell we are back finacially and building a strong foundation on that without getting carried away too much.

Demons fans have stood up to be counted.

We will not be bent over by other clubs anymore on the field..not with the players & melbourne people behind the scenes we have now.

Our bad run is history and we now strive hard for the 13th flag we crave badly.

So yes in a nutshell I am very pumped up with how things are going at MFC and I'm going to be loud in the Redlegs section this year!

Ps does anyone have a general nickname list for the players.

i know a lot but not all of them.

Cheers Demonlanders

As i always say, its the bad times that make the good times so good.... Cant wait for 2011.............

Oh and if your reading this and havent signed up yet, get on board and be a part of it!!!

Welcome CTGK!

If you do a search in the top right corner for nicknames (maybe use advanced search and isolate it to thread titles) you will probably find one.

Thanks 45HG16

Great to see there are people who still love Wrecker!!! He was my favorite for years. So freaking tough!!

And cleaning up Hird with the Hip and shoulder was pure gold.Never will i forget his tough presence for a smaller statured backman.

I wonder where Wrecker is these days..I havent heard.

We always say Sylvias Mother. Name Rex Hunt called him on radio. Not sure were it originates from tho.

Sylvia's Mother was an early 1970s hit song by a group called Dr Hook & the Medicine Show. Typical Rex Hunt nonsence!

Shattered "Noah" never caught on for Trengove, thought it was a ripper.

Considering the nickname is based around people getting his name wrong, I'm not surprised at all.

And wouldnt it be "Only-one-ah"?

Hank.

Bad boy Billy / Bowser.

Chip.

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
