Here is the game rules for the 2010 season.

http://www.ultimatefooty.com/help/

There are a number of different systems that canbe run, but I prefer the head to head category based scoring system. There are a number of new features that will be introduced for 2011, some of which will try and deal with the fact that there will be at least a bye everyweek. How exactly that will work I can't be sure.

My guess is that it will go live after they finish counting down the top ten players. They're currently doing it daily And they just named 7.

When the site is up i will create a league.

For those who care, the named players so far:

10: Boyd

9: pendlebury

8: cross

7: swallow

Cross is a quality Ufooty player.

Demonland League 1 is open for anyone who wants in:

www.ultimatefooty.com

Maximum of 16 teams for ths one, then someone will have to put their hand up to run another league.

League ID: 228354

Password: TS4MFCIN12

Please use your Demonland name as your team name so we all know who we're dealing with.

I have set the draft method as "online" which means this:

This league will conduct an Online Draft starting Monday February 28 at 9:00 AM (AEDT).

The draft will operate between 9 AM and 10 PM (AEDT). Each team will have a maximum of 2 hours 0 minutes per pick.

If we get 16 people on we can move the draft forward or leave longer/or shorter for each pick and so on. If you miss your pick, you'll have a selection made automatically for you at the end of the 2 hours. The automatic pick will be the highest projected ranking player available, which is usually pretty good in my experience. Draft order will be random (unless I get pick 16, in which case I will re-randomise it until I get something better).

I have decided to upgrade our league to UltimateFooty PLUS, to get a few extra features and because I think the website is fantastic and i'd like to support it. The cost of this is $29.95, which I have paid. Instead of paying me, please make a donation to MFC (or demonland maybe) of at least $1.87.

Beyond that there isn't much to know, the best thing to do to prepare for the drafting is to read the rules so you can understand what makes a player good at Ultimate footy.(usually a player that can well across lots of categories).

Please only join if you think you can commit a reasonable amount of time to the whole thing, UFooty takes up much less time than SC/DT to be competative, but it is annoying when people forget to at least check to see if their players are playing.

See you there!

Would love to but can't do the draft time!

Draft will run over a few days probably, and if people think a weekend would be better i am happy to change it to say saturday from 9:00am? Also it isn't absolutely crucial that you are available for the draft all the time, the auto picks are clever, or you can pre-rank your players and have your preferred selection picked in your absence. I may also drop the 2hour default time to 1 hour or 30 minutes so we can get through it a bit quicker. I haven't actually done the draft in this way before so it might take 1 day, it might take 3 weeks.

Just on the draft order i will make it random and that will be put up once we fill up the 16 spots. To clarify; the draft order for the second round is in reverse order from the first round, and the third back to the order of the first. So there is little advantage in having pick 1 because your next pick is 32.

yeh in relation to draft, i am at uni and what not but will be an easy fix, and i just have work from 330-715 again not too bigger issue as the player nomination looks pretty good

side note, my other league i am doing with mates and we are thinking of rolling like a 8-11 kinda business, with like 1 minute draft time, having said that its probably not everones cup of tea and would be quite frantic haha

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los
