So with all the prepaid packages/corporates etc been bought for today's ground, does that mean next week all tickets will be available to club members?

It could be like a grand final crowd of old...

Pretty sure Collingwood supporters can only afford the one GF ticket. Expect a crowd of 40,000 Saints fans + 10,000 mutual fans + Eddie McGuire next week for a tally of 50,001 people in attendance. You heard it here first.

I really want to go next week. I reckon the Saints will Kick Ass to be honest.

They withstood all the filth could give....but it is half time.

Brilliant Theatre. B)

An extra 16,000 tickets will be available to club members. Originally each of the 16 clubs was allocated 1,000 tickets each. These will go into the general ticket pool this time. Not sure how they will be divided between the 2 clubs - probably in the same proportions as before.

I think its pretty unfair. Its hard enough to get a GF ticket as a true supporter and member of your club with all the corporates taking the seats of the true fans without having to fork out a second time for another chance to go.

For interstate and o/seas fans who do manage to get there, well it would be heartbreaking to have to return home without a result..many couldnt affort the price of a second ticket ( unless they joined the Pies fans in a major Melb crime wave) let alone the extra time off work to stay down and go again.

What if it drew again? Do we play a third? A Fourth?

No it shoudl be extra time I think. Get a result on the day. If it's good enough to be used in earlier finals where a team could get knocked out of the race, why isn't it ok to use in the biggest game of all???????????????

The GF Replay has extra time until a winner is obtained.

It seems ridiculous that the replay will have extra time but the original GF doesn't!!! Such is the business of the AFL - more $$ for a GF Replay but will lose $$ if a THIRD Replay would be required (due to contract negotiations with Cricket Victoria etc).

Apparently the MCC actually loses money next week. Just caught the end of it on ABC radio, but the MCC pays the AFL a weighted amount per person that comes through the gate into the members. They said it's about $200 a seat that the MCC pays to the AFL. 22000 seats in the MCC.

Actually the history of a grand final replay goes back way beyond the AFL/VFL was such a business.

Don't disagree that they will be salivating over the dollar signs that undoubtedly come with it, but $$ isn't the reason behind the rule.

There's a hell of a lot of organisation that goes into a granny, but instead of the whole season, they now they only have one week! Think the AFL may be paying a fair bit of overtime this week...

So yes, the $$ are good, but it's gotta be less than ideal for everyone. I guess no-one thought they'd ever have to deal with it. and i dare say it will be another 40 years before it happens again.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
