This heart beats true for the red and blue

I think it is pathetic to carry on and claim we should never have to wear a completely different coloured clash strip.

All clubs should be forced to have one that is drastically different to their home strip.

Seems to work fine in the EPL.

Tradition is an argument for those stubbornly trying to resist change.

I agree E25 we have to wear a mainly white jumper like the majority of clubs.

Like or lump it that is the position.

I would prefer our normal jumper however I have got used to the white one.

As long as we win who cares.

Matt Burgan confirmed it in the teams chat today. It doesn't really matter, Brisbane are crap. If an in form Richmond can beat them up there, a more in form Melbourne can thump them up there

Not this again?! FCS.

If Brad Miller can tackle Matty Whelan at OO against Carlton, we can have a clash strip. It looks fine.

And the MFC at one point was called 'the Invincible Whites' early in our storied history, WYL. So stop being so excitable.

Move on, nuff-nuffs.

I know that hurt but it's a nuff-nuff/Hun/fork-and-spoon issue and we are above that.

Hey great idea rpfc.

Why don't you send Stynesy a note, suggesting we revert our home guernsey to the invincible whites and change our nickname to the "Invincible White Fuschias". Stuff all this demons rubbish. Oh, and you could suggest we get a good place-kicker in the next deaft.

If we all back you up on this will we still be nuff-nuffs?

The white doesn't look great. But it is better than some of the others we have had.

Perhaps next years clash strip will be white, with a big new emblem in the middle???????????????/

but it's not the reason we can't win away games.

Some people would have you belive that the only reason we were 40pts down against Freo was because we wearing the white strip. They'd also say that had we worn it last week V Sydney we would've lost.

The anti alternate strip discussion has been one of Demonland's most annoying topics over the years. It's a jumper we have to wear every other away game...who cares!

I think the white guernsey looks great. Sorry to spoil the fantasy folks, but it's not the reason we can't win away games.

Where do you get this red herring from?????

Its NOT about winning/losing because of clash strip. Sheeesh!

Its about being the red&blue not looking like some KKKlansman

Aggreed Thats the issue how they look not how they play when dressed in all white

And the fact that we just meekly accept the AFL arbitary rulings on the matter

I would expect that next year all teams will play in the AFL required strip not just some of them

Suit yourself rpfc but i will not let this one go. Particularly when we had to wear a clash strip against St.kilda and then Essendon were fine to wear their colours against us. It's the AFL who are wrong on this-Not me.

We should never wear white-thats foor Footscray. We are Red & Blue..."Maintain the Rage"

I watched footy in the old days on black & White TV and at grounds with no lights, and everybody was happy their team wore the Trad Strip. Life is too easy for too many these days!!!

Its a forum, mate.

Play the ball and not the man.

Whatever that means.

Honestly, if you want to be sarcastic and flippant you really are having a go at the wrong bloke - it's my stock and trade.

It's a non-issue that, as BBP says, is one of the most annoying arguments on this place.

We need an alternative, it looks fine and we should move on.

You really don't know what that means? Or are you just being coy?

I don't see that poster-abuse adds anything to your argument. Just try sticking to your POV and try not to belittle others to make a point. Got it?

I have no problem with your POV, its your opinion.

I just have a different POV. Is that too hard to comprehend?

Have a nice evening

What happens if we have to play essendon, Brisbane, st. Kilda etc in a final or grand final? I don't want to see us play a grand final in anything other than the navy blue with red yoke.

What happens?

According to some you turn into a nuff-nuff idiot who won't move on!

Something to look forward too, huh?

Dammit, my mum's flying up to Cairns tomorrow, but she's stopping in Brisbane along the way. Should have planned to go and stay in Brisbane Saturday night, then fly back Sunday...crap, I would've enjoyed that

We better make sure we finish higher then, so we won't have to. BTW, I wouldn't have thought ST.Kilda would be an issue.

St.kilda as certainly an issue a few weeks back when we had to wear a clash jumper. This is the exact reason this issue gets my blood boiling. It is unnecessary and wrong.

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out
