Has Watts signed?

you might need to save some money for your trips, no indication from the club he has signed. today at the tridents function was the ideal time for him to announce he is a demon for life. no such announcment... GC for Jack???

Talk about stirring the pot for no reason...

I spoke to scully a couple of weeks ago and even though the club want him to resign now he doesn't plan too. He and his manager want to wait until the end of the next season.... nothing about going to GWS just wants to play footy and get some games under his belt....

Does this mean you will come up with the same stupid thread next year... one of the guys above mentioned speaking to Jack about it and said won't happen

Contracts are done on players/the club terms so give it a rest

He is definitely going to the Gold Coast.

He bought one of those Theme Park passes. He wold me that he can't wait to go to water-world. He has been there before but it was a long time ago and he was just a kid.

He is also a big fan of the dolphins at seaworld. He tells me he is amazed at how intelligent those big slippery fishies are.

I don't know why everyone is always so paranoid about players leaving the club, in like the last 15 years or something the only GOOD player that has EVER left was Scott Thompson, and even then we got Moloney for him who has been an asset to the club

relax

Watts' contract status was mentioned on Footy Classified last week; Hutchy claimed that there was nothing sinister in the fact that he was yet to re-sign, but rather Jack and his manager had decided to back himself in to have a good finish to the year in order to bump up any contract offer that may come from the club... Good on the kid, I say.

This is truly the most rediculous post I have ever ever read. Why would a Tridents Function be the only occasion for Jack to announce his contract? You have no source either to suggest he is going to the GC, yet you are happy enough to demand one from other posters. You are the OP, reveal your source. Otherwise nick off. This is a damaging and baseless post. Makes me think you are not really a Dee's supporter but rather someone who likes to start rumours on internet forums.

Fess up a source or go away. No one really cares what soemone thinks they know about a player leaving. FWIW, I have spoken to Jack several times, not just at MFC functions, and I am confident he will eb sticking round for a long time. Although he has never stated it directly, so I guess he must be going to the gold coast.

You have your opinion and I have mine. Jack Watts is an unsigned young talent and is therefore as likely as not to be available to the new emerging clubs. If GC were not to talk to Jack they would be overlooking a young player who is going to be s star. You consider this to be a damaging post, I'll tell you what would be damaging, if you woke up in the morning to read Jack has signed with GC, now that would hurt you!! I'll repeat, he is on the market for as long as he remains unsigned whether you feel comfortable with that or not.

So.... he is not signed as of this date, sure he may have been approached by other clubs, so what? He is definately leaving? He is holding out until the end of the year so he and his manager can assess where he is at and how much he is worth. That is all there is to it. End of story. There is no evidence that he wants to leave. You have simply floated that rumour in order to create trouble and deflect from what is one of the happiest Mondays I can remember in ten years.

If I woke up this morning and read Watts had signed with GC i would be concerned, but I didn't and I won't. So stop smoking weed, it has made you paranoid, and rejoin the real world.

WHta I read in the paper was we smashed the Swans! Go Dees

I have not mentioned the word rumour, I have not stated it is a rumour, you mentioned that word. I have only stated that as long as he is an unsigned player he is up for grabs.....impossible for you to understand but that is fact.

In their defence when we lost Shane Woewodin and Stephen Powell they were still definatly considered good players. We got nothing for Powell and picked up Heffernan & Bell for Woewodin, break even at best. We only got pick 17 (eventual James Kelly) for Jeff Farmer which we on traded to geelong with Brent Grgic for Bizzle who I thought turned out to be a good player for us in defence.

Darren Jolly and Troy Simmonds are the only other decent players I can think of over recent time who left Melbourne for another club, but both were yet to really establish themselevs when they left.

But overal I agree, melbourne do quite well at holding onto their players and have obviously created an environment where the players don't want to leave. (Thompson & Farmer only left in order to return to their home states.)

Your source for this definite statement?? no indication yet from him or club that he intends signing, what do you know that no one else on this sight knows?? I intend to fully discuss this issue as I believe he is an important part of our future. If you don't want to contribute to the conversation, good night!

Just watch Jack after every single win, he gets out to as many Melbourne supporters as he can, chats to them, hugs the women and high fives the kids... Now he is either the biggest fake in the world, or he loves his club and loves his fans (as his fans love him).

Look at all the examples, almost everytime a Demons player kicks a goal Watts is the first one at them for the high five, everytime he gets a goal he gets pumped up, everytime he kicks a goal he gets a massive cheer...

Melbourne fans have a tendency to clap off players, alot.

I sit right behind the bench in the MCC every week and no one gets a bigger cheer than Watts.

You can see it in his eyes, he genuinely does seem to love his fans.

One of the only players ive seen acknowledge the fans.

I guess what im saying is..... he isn't leaving.

In fact, I will place a bet of $1000 that he is still at Melbourne next season, if your interested?

This is so true and for a minute I flinched and said to myself "Why hasnt he signed yet" and after reading that I was reminded that he does love this club and he doesnt need to sign strait away for me to know hes going to be at Melbourne for the long hall.

I may be wrong but the last I heard Jack had not yet signed on past this season. Is he in a similar situation to Ablett who I believe is going to GC. Has he signed on or is he too heading off with an anouncement made only at years end. Would love an update if anyone has one.

this is the original thread, please debate but school children must obstain! Has Watts signed yes or no, then the original thread stands.

No problem with the rest of the OP, only this line. Baselesss, false, no substance. Answer is NO. If you have any substantial info .... prove it! Provide any info you may have. Anything...this is pure gossip started by a genuine non-demons fan I feel.

The only similiarity to Ablett is that he has not signed a contract. How many other players on our list and on other Clubs list have not signed contracts? Are they all headed to the GC. If that is your 'theory' then I estimate the GCFC have 150 odd players headed their way.

Truly mate, rack off!!

Bad luck mate.... we've all rounded on you.

Yes ... it is a fact...... and I see it as a real positive. It shows that he's been prepared to back himself to improve his asking price over the rest of the season. Quite frankly I would have been a little concerned about his confidence and ambition if he'd locked himself in when he was running around on the wing at Casey.

Keep on posting!

    BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin
