Cheney?

SEN also had Mick Malthouse on who said that another Collingwood player will be out, but would not say who - No suprise.

They hinted it was one of The Pies bigger names.

And another late fine???

Hopefully this came from the Ox's mouth - he has a bit of decent habit for being wrong.

I can't understand how he could be so close last week and only pulled at the last minute (his family was down from Bungaree and they may have tried to get him across the line) and at this early stage be a certain non starter.

Doesn't make sense to me unless he is worse than reported.

No late fine. That only happened because we replaced him with someone not listed as an emergency. We don't have to finalise our squad until tomorrow afternoon. We can make whatever changes we wish until then.

The Collingwood player who is out is Shane O'Bree. He's been replaced in their squad by Brad Dick.

That's not really a big name, I was expecting a Swan or Pendlebury.

By expecting I mean hoping.

Right now I would suggest that the team named to that we will see run out could be quite different....adding Frawley to a the list of being doubtful - Jones and Sylvia....even Gysberts was off the majority of the last qtr last week but should be ok.

Will be an interesting day at Casey tomorrow to see who is not there....see you all there!

Haha. Not sure if it was what was actually said on SEN or just Redleg_24's interpretation, but Shane O'Bree definitely isn't one of their bigger names. He's been a fringe 22 player and has spent time in the VFL this year.

In terms of the pies players going out, if it is obree, who is going to win the hardball for them?

Could be good for us.

I would have thought we'd be happier with O'Bree in.

Presragiacomo is the biggest name at Collingwood, maybe in the whole AFL.

Not if they have no one to go in & win the hard ball.

Brad Dick doesn't worry me too much

And Brad Dick, the guy who kicked 5 goals against us last year might replace O'Bree. The news just keeps getting better.......

He really stiffed us last year

Channel 7 confirmed O'Bree. No word from 7 on Chip.

Im sure i read somewhere an hour or two ago that it was Dane Swan that was doubtful.. (EDIT: with a groin strain..)

Drove my dreamteam into dis-array momentarily..leading me to arrange Gysberts as a midfield emergency just in case..

Think Id rather beat a full strength Filth tho - give 'em no excuses or comebacks!

Ah crap.

If we don't bring someone else in this might mean PJ plays.

Either way it hurts bad.

I've been expecting that PJ would play, but I imagined it was Warnock going out. Ah well. Still we won't truly know till Monday.

I was surprised to see O'Bree in, I thought he copped a knock, so was expecting him to be out.

I'm surprised by frawley being ruled out so early when there's meant to be another training session on Sunday. I think i remember Bailey referring to us having the session today and sunday when talking about Sylvia's chances of playing.

Is it possible that the comments you heard on SEN weren't Bailey referring to the fine we copped for having Frawley withdraw late last week??? I guess part of me is hoping that was the case because Frawley is really becoming the defender that this team cannot do without.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
