Enjoy that Maric was in the best, would like to see him get going

Would like to see Jetta and Gysberts get a game soon as reward for consistent efforts

I've got no problem playing Wona in Darwin. I'm pretty sure he'll perform as the hometown hero.

If we ever play a premiership match in Ringwood or wherever Gysberts is from then we'll give him a free pass into the team too.

So in summary... Bruce has a questionable hamstring for a few weeks while Gysberts is tearing up the VFL, and the forward line is looking worn out and short of repeat-lead marking targets and Miller is BOG in the VFL.

Depending on how Bate's ankle goes, it could be as direct as Gysberts for Bruce and Miller for Bate.

Has Miller been doing any ruck-helping at Casey? Because PJ hasn't added too much.

Thinking out loud, the players most likely to come in this coming week would be -

Miller

Gysberts

Morton

Plus Aussie in for luck up North. Which might make Maric cry or might make him get some traction at last.

Why would that be? AFAIK this is the first time Maric's been in the best for Casey, and of the two Wonna's the one who's shown he can cut it at AFL level.

If anyone would cry because they missed selection it would be Cheney and McNamara who have been doing well down there for a long time.

Think wona is weeks off, how much footy has he played in the last 12 mths

would expect him to play at least another 2 - 3 weeks at vfl

Colin Garland played 1 and a half games of footy in 12 months and came straight into the senior side. The FD have shown that if they think someone is capable they will happily promote them after minimal gametime despite long absences.

I don't think that would/should apply to Wonaeamirri.

Im not sure how Morton can be behind Gysberts.

Id love to see Jordan get a game, but I struggle to see Morton being overlooked if he is right to play.

I'll have a crack at answering that one.

Gysberts has been in Casey's best players in three consecutive matches and was a significant contributor in each win.

I saw Cale Morton in his first game back and he looked good but was really eased into things after a longish layoff. I'm told that he struggled to shake off his tag on Saturday but being the quality footballer that he is, he still managed three goals, one from a soft 50 metre penalty. The selectors would have at the back of their minds the fact that he would be required to play his comeback game to AFL footy in the heat and humidity of Darwin after a long flight. Might not be the best idea for a bloke who is a very valuable asset to the club.

So do you suggest we do not play Morton and give him a week's break as there is no match at Casey this week?

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
