Here it is:

What do we all think of our NEW 2010 slogan. Looks ok i think, would have been inclined to use the top 4 or 5 young blokes maybe Grimmes, Watts, Trengove, Scully and LJ?? as they are why we are going to the footy this year too watch how they progress.

I love it !! Not hard to beat some of the [censored] slogans thrown up by other clubs in recent times.

I'm happy with it.

Will lead to a few "we put the fire out" retorts by opposition sides when we have a bad loss.

But even that is good and puts our brand out there.

As much as the "they know we're coming" slogan was arrogant, it still got the blues a lot of exposure and added to their story.

Hopefully ours will do the same.

Its also a theme I think we can build on in coming years as the side gets better.

That's fine, I'd just say that "we didn't start the fire."

Agree .... particularly the fact that we can build on it from year to year.

Already installed it as my pc wallpaper.

I think it is good. It's not too cocky unlike past opposition slogans. I think it will work well and agree with others that it's something to build on.

With regard to your selected players you would be inclined to use, I'm sure they will be used in other campaigns. Having established on field leaders such as Sylvia, Davey & Green is a good choice. They will be the ones leading from the front and meeting expectations this year. The players you mention still have to establish themselves and get more games under the belt. They don't really need to be the front men of marketing & promotion just yet in my opinion. The majority of supporters and members would know a bit about them already and the excitement they may bring very soon. I'm sure a few of them will be the next cab off the rank come the next promotional slogan. :)

Yeah fare call might be a bit much too advertise kids that havn't even played an AFL game yet. I agree its something to build on. Hopefully they earn the right to be "poster boys" next year. Go Dee's

Copy the pic link and add [ img ] and [ /img ] either side of the link in your post.

For example the link you provided, I simply copied that link (http://etc etc...)in your post and added the [ img ] at the front and [ /img ] at the end of the link.

Not bad but Brad struggles to pull off the hard man. It looks like someone has knocked off his chocolate milk.

That's what I call strategic marketing. demon_smile.gif

Or anal retentiveness demon_tongue.gif

But seriously, all players should have either had socks up or down, and hands by their side or crossed, not a mixture of both. It's very distracting to those of us who suffer from obsessive compulsive behaviour (and is ruins the balance of the photo)demon_wink.gif

For those talking about the players - I think on the website it rotates them through.

At the moment on mine it has Jurrah, Davey and Mcdonald.

Is that the MFC website?? i checked it out and couldnt see the slogan at all??

If that obsessive compulsive behaviour reaches high heart beat excitement distraction for the like, the marketing may have arguably worked to a degree.;)

Just ask Mrs. Silvagni.

Didn't even notice the socks - what annoys me is the change-up of the font!

Haha - spot on! I'm a graphic designer and the first thing i wondered was why is "the fire" in a different font to "has started?" It should have all been the same or "fire" should have been the only word in flames. Sorry......weird I know but I have to say, I love it! Reckon it's a good choice of players too!

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm

    DEFUSE THE BOMBERS by Meggs

Last Saturday’s crushing loss to Fremantle, after being three goals ahead at three quarter time, should be motivation enough to bounce back for this very winnable Round 5 clash at Windy Hill. A first-time venue for the Melbourne AFLW team, this should be a familiar suburban, windy, footy environment for the players.   Essendon were brave and competitive last week against ladder leader Adelaide at Sturt’s home ground. A familiar name, Maddison Gay, was the Bombers best player with

    BLOW THE SIREN by Meggs

Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los
