I just had a quick look at Tapscott's YouTube footage and from that he looks like a real player with a deadly boot. Very excited.

yeah watching his highlights he kinda reminds me of Paul Chapman. Strong, big kick and good balance.

What stood out for me was his pure arrogance and good body size. Neither go astray on the footy field.

bp said he thought he was perfect fit as he provided us w another great kick but also he is a collision player. He loves to get in and bang bodies. We don't have many of those so he will be a great fit.

We need all those attributes, a touch of ruthlessness too. Hopefully it rubs off as they grow & develop together. It's exciting. He reminds me a little of the bloke in your avatar, yet he is not the one in the air.

The more I see and read about this kid the more I like.

Check out some highlights

and
highlights.

the boy can kick and can kick long, loves a goal, tough, aggressive, can take a mark and is best mates with Jack T.

Really good pick up

tapscott on one flank, and kid sylvia on the other, opposition defenders beware, you'll get crunched on the rebound!!

AGREEE!!!

Sylvia and Tapscott... hard bodies on the flanks. Both can kick goals from anywhere within 60m. Both can add grunt with stints in the midfield.

Real impact players.

Opposition will be seriously scared.

Add to that Trengove is also a goal kicking midfielder.

It's always important to have midfielders that can kick goals so that don't rely on your forwards to kick big bags of goals to win matches. Just look at Geelong and WCE

That really is just great to read!

I agree. I know it's probably being over-sentimental, but I love stories like this where best mates get drafted together.

Stable Pony!

I hope you're not serious, Tapscott will be a great player for us in the mould of Sylvia and to have those players as well as Moloney will give us a toughness we have lacked for years.

About the only thing he will have in common with a stable pony is that he has the kick of a horse.

The more I think about it, the more Tapscott reminds me of Col Sylvia. To me, Luke stood out the most of the South Australian's against Vic Metro, back in July at the Championships, so I was excited to hear his name called out.

He has way more power that Slvia. This kid is an absolute freak and will tear it up in the afl!

Tappy will turn it on at the G from 60 kicking over defensive zones and crashing packs at half forward to open up the game for others.

Oh I just cannot wait!!

Really excited about getting Tapscott to the club, was hoping we picked him at 11 but glad he slipped through to 18. Exactly the type of player we need across half forward, tough, imposing, and a massive kick.

i think he will be a favourite of mine. hard, tough and penetrating defences. might jump on board early with his number on the back.

Not the smartest move considering his number will most likely change over the next couple of years.

Although i do agree i think he will one of my favs with such attributes.

yes agreed. reckon he'll be given a high number to start with. maybe i'll get him on the jumper in a few years then. still deciding on what number to stick on my new one. i do feel sorry for all the people out there who got the 48 on their back. not sure the next number 48 will be as exciting. i spose it is convenient for all those robbo lovers out there though.

fantastic to get tapscott, trengove's best mate, especially at pick 18

there's footage of the two giving the old one-two against metro

plays exactly like chapman but with a better, bigger kick

he can walk straight into the team next year and will intimidate the opposition straight away. not bad for an 18 yr old

opposition players will need three sets of eyes with sylvia, tapscott and moloney reeking havoc

I cant wait either!

Sylvia has proved he can kick goals outside 60 at the G. With Sylvia and Tapscott kicking goals from 60 out is dangerous!

They both will bring alot of toughness and agression to the forward line also.

Bring it on!

My forward line breakdown....

- Watts and Jurrah to take the high marks along with a Jamar, Gawn, Fitzpatrick to crash the packs.

- Sylvia and Tapscott to lay bone crunching tackles and bumps.

- Aussie, Jetta, Davey and Maric to chase and apply defensive pressure.

- Fitzpatrick (201cm who can run and take a grab. Awkward kicking style but I think it is effective.) could be our likely FF along with leading players like Green and Bate. Can even throw in Garland.

Awesome! I can see that working!

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
