not too sure on this!? How old is he?

The times i saw him play last year i was not really blown away to say the least?

EDIT- 23 years so still relatively young in ruck years..

200cm.

Big type of lad.

The thing that worries me is that Sydney has been reported to offer 3 year deal worth near 1 mill.

If we were offering something similar that would be strange wouldnt it?

Anytime I saw him play he was pretty damn ordinary.

Prefer we kept Jamar instead of picking up Mumford.

23.

I like him and suggest that there is plenty of upside to his game with regard to his work around the ground. Also considering his age you would have to think that he is coming into his peak as a ruckman. You would have to think that he is possibly the player we are steering toward the PSD, SB may not be available. I would go so far as to offer a high pick for him and a player if that were to improve our chances.

At the same age Jamar was half the player Mumford is now.

Disagree... Mummy can so NOT play!

Didn't Mumford lose about 20 kgs to get a game for Geelong.

Think i heard he used to eat about 12 dim sims for a snack and not even think twice.

Not sure if this makes him a better or worse prospect. Or if it is even true.

You people haven't seen him play much if you think he's crap.

I'd love to have him, aggressive and gets into packs to help out the mids (In fact he's quite similiar to Jamar). He'll be better than Jamar IMO.

i really hope jamar isnt traded...this year he really threw himself at the packs and in the 7 (i think) games he played he did well, with mumford id definatly like him at melbourne

I'd rather Spencer

I can't believe you prefer Spencer over Mumford. Golly, you are a fool sorry. What in Spencer's game have you liked so far that would make you pick him over Mummy?

Trade pick 18 and Newton for Mumford. This kid can seriously ruck - for Christ's sake, he played about 18 games for Geelong this year. Jamar would struggle to play 6, and Spencer wouldn't get a game. That answers any questions if you ask me.

It's obvious we are planning on getting Burgoyne in the PSD. The Hawks are struggling to get a trade in place for him, the Bombers have tried but no luck, of the other clubs he wanted to go to, we have not been reported to show any interest in him what so ever. If that's not a "read between the lines" scenario I don't know what is.

I'd go after Mumford. He's a really strong, physical young ruckman and should be in his prime when we are making our big push at a flag.

As for Spencer, he's younger than Mumford and shows some really promising signs as a young ruckman. Once he fills out into his body and mattures he'll become a very intimidating player. Very agressive player.

Steamin - weren't you the clown saying the Jamar + pick 11 for Burgoyne was a done deal - just waiting for confirmation?

Then you come and say you wouldn't want Mumford but would rather Spencer?

How can I take you serious???

Spencer vs Mumford - wake up to yourself Steamin.

12-16 sausages...

Not a bad article, certainly has come from a fair way back to make it to the AFL. Could be worth a look if nothing else pops up for the PSD...

Ok, so you think Mumford will never be better than Jamar? I personally would like to see our ruck duo as Jamar/Mumford for the next 2 years, then Mumford/Jamar for 3 years after that.

That post you said about Jamar and pick 11 for Burgoyne will never happen. I will make a formal apology on this site if it does. But, how about YOU tell US who you are waiting confirmation from, then MAYBE I will take you seriously.

Wipe egg off my face? I will, but only after you if the Jamar trade doesn't happen.

"Rookie" - very pathetic criticism. Does it matter a f*** what level we are at on this site? I may be a "rookie", but obviously I have more idea about the Club and the game than you do.

Mumford has great skills for a ruckman and gets around the ground well. Probably doesn't have the physicality of Jamar, and we'll need to work on his hit outs to go from good to very good or even top line.

But he's a player I'd love to have for a PSD pick, or pick 34 or later. Not sure I'd give him 1mil of 3 years though.

Hmm...watched Mumford more times than I've watched Jamar and Spencer, only because he played 18 games this year in the best team of the year. Maybe you should get the facts before making silly comments...again!

My point with Mumford is that in 3 years time when our premiership window is open (generally stays open for 4 or 5 years), he will be 26, therefore giving him at least 4 years of good footy. In 3 years, Jamar will be 30, not much left in his tank after that while our window remains open. As I have said in the past, I don't rate Spencer at all.

Don't get me wrong, Mummy needs to improve in a lot of areas, eg. kicks per game, disposals per match, but as he is still only 23, so I think there is so much more upside in him, and again, he played 18 games in this years premiership team. Ok, he didn't play the GF, still a fair effort.

As a Demon supporter, and long time member, I would be happy to see us take a punt and be aggressive with this bloke and offer 34 pick (or whatever it is we have) + Newton, and if they don't accept which I think they will reject, give them 18 and Newton. If in 3 years he is the best in the league (like I am predicting), I'm a genius. If he turns out cr@p, what have I cost us? Newton, well, he's a nothing in my view, and also pick 18, which could at this stage, I'm not confident of getting a player of great quality - time will tell.

I think you are showing your true maturity by saying "goodnight princess" and "have fun at school tomorrow". As I have previously requested, reveal your source in regards to the Jamar & pick 11 trade. If you are as "grown up" as you claim to be, you will be happy to discuss this.

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
