just thinking

if port are into jamar, and we offer jamar and 18 for port's pick 8, then i reckon we'd need a ready made ruckman come the preseaon draft. It may only be for a couple of years untill we're able to develop another one. but i reckon our midfield should be able to expect at least a few taps to advantage a game.

so who would fit this bill and be available and that we can lure into the preseason draft?

Mark Blake.

Hey mate, do you see him going somewhere in particular?

He would probably be worth a late first round pick (given that he's a good ruckman - and their prices are over inflated), however Pick #11 is too much.

Roos has stated that pick 14 is not enough, considering he went to Sydney for pick 15 and has improved (I might have 14 and 15 around the wrong way...not sure)...seems no-one can be pleased. It's hard to find a happy medium. I'm sure it's all about perceived market values and one side trying to gain an advantage or at least be content.

Would anyone here give 11 for Darren Jolly?

Yikes. there's more chance of mfc picking up fevola for pick 50 then mfc giving pick 11 for jolly.

Posted

It seems very unlikely, but perhaps Darren Jolly will fall through to the PSD...Colligwood are the only bidders so farandthe Swans haven't accept it yet.

He's contracted.

Therefore, he can't go into the PSD.

Good point. :P I was forgetting that he was contracted.

With Geelong having salary cap issue's, they might trade Mumford.

David Hale might cost to much, but it's worth asking how much?

Surely we would only entertain trading Jamar if we could pick up another ruckman? I wouldn't be opposed to trading Pick 50 for Mumford.

We could always trade jamar, and wipe the slate clean by drafting a ruckman in the top 20. It is not like we will be winning more than 8 games next season, so buying a winning ruckman VS drafting a talented ruckman will have little bearing on how many games we win next year. Much of a muchness really. Having the Kid has a greater upside, that said Mumford still is a Kid and has shown glipses of talent. For pick 50? In a heart beat!

If we trade Jamar we should pick someone up.

Apparently Brisbane are interested in Mumford. I don't think Geelong will let him go for ~ pick 50!

Trade Jamar + another player to Port for Pick 9.

Select Majak Daw with Pick 34.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

We can persist with Spencer, Meesen, Johnson and even Stef Martin until Daw comes on.

Blake reportedly signed for 2 more years.

Swans reportedly offered him 900K over 3 years. I'll match that in PSD if i have to but 800K to stay in Vic is still a massive bump up.

I don't think we'd trade Jamar. But if we do, surely we couldn't get pick 9, could we ?

If Jamar does go, perhaps pick 34 for Mumford. Geelong would let him go for that.

You're keen on Daw Dee tention.

Port get - Pick 9, Pick 11, Jamar

Hawks get - Burgoyne

Melbourne get - Pick 8, Thorp

bumps our pick 11 up to pick 8, enables us to get butcher, plus we gain another KPF chance

Also lets us concentrate the rest of the week on a ruckman trade/PSD chance

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
