Jamar for Captain :P

:D :D

Funny.

I realise that Jamar's work in the ruck contests has had the benefit of seven years training, and I don't for one minute think his 5 goals are a sign of the future. Basically, he plays half a dozen games this year and goes from being one of the worst players in the league to being one of the possible "big names" that's going to be traded. Jamar is not a big name, and I doubt he ever will be. Serviceable, sure, but not big name.

I have an awful feeling that Sylvia is on the way to another club. Now THAT one will hurt.

Brock this year was breathtakingly slow. Despite that, I was prepared to cut him some slack on the grounds he was carrying some injury. If not, he is not much of a loss, sorry to say, because as well as slow he was not particularly effective by foot.

The consensus from those I have talked to - not all Demon supporters - is that we have done very well out of this deal. So let's roll with it. I'd be much more concerned if Davey or Silvia or Jamar were to go. Jamar is not in the same class as the first two but he is vastly under-rated on this site.

According to channel 9 news its Davey, "the out of contract star speaking to a number of other clubs".

That would undo all our good work if Davey and McLean were to leave in one season.

I didnt see the news but i hope it is not true.

I dont think the MFC will let him go and I dont think Davey wants to go. He would be talking to other clubs to up his price for his new contract I would hope. I think the Dee's will just have to come to terms with paying him more to keep him. Get his brother in the Red & Blue and they will be with us all the way.

Pick 22 and Dunn for Alwyn. (Pick 22 via Miller & Valenti trade to Sydney). I would prefer to keep Pick 18.

Pretty certain you heard the news late.

Hence Redleg's comforting sentence.

I see what you mean... though at the stage redleg knew, it wasn't official. Or at least it wasn't known by EVERYONE.

Thank goodness, in any case.

Although not first hand info, my Father in law (mad essendon member and has a few connections) told me he has heard the Colin Garland to essendon rumor from his end.

Apparently they are looking at players that can play forward and back to help fill the void left by Lucas/Lloyd and soon to be Fletcher.

I hope this does not happen, and hope the dees can lock him up for 2-3 years as I believe he is a super talent with much development ahead of him. When word is out that another club wants one of your young, talented & uncontracted players it is cause for concern.

The fact he has a moon boot on could hurt his trade value. If i hear anything else from the essendon rumor mill I will keep you all posted.

Would hate to lose Garland!!

I heard this a lot last trading period. I think its probably just a rumour thats carried over.

Nothing to be too concerned about. And Essendon needs other types more urgently

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
