I believe there may have been a thread on him a few weeks ago...

Unless I'm mistaken, I think there's some truth to the fact he wants to come (home?) to Melbourne (the city).

People were talking about what it'd take, what they'd give...

I reckon I'd go pretty close to trading pick 2 in a straight swap. I love this kid.

It sounds outrageous, but I reckon pick 2 would be Morabito, Trengove, Butcher, Rohan... and I like Patrick more than any of those names, with Trengove probably not being too far off, as he's an out-and-out mid. Granted, they're all much more unknown and could turn out to be better, even superstars. But then they could turn out to be worse. Dangerfield has also proven much. Including playing well so far in tonight's final.

I may be overstating, and MFC would almost certainly not be interested in it. What are peoples' thoughts? Rate Dangerfield.

If I was him, I wouldn't want to be leaving Adelaide at the moment.

But it would have to be considered, he is a superb prospect. Watching the TV right now, very impressive game so far. Kicked 2 goals.

If we could get Dangerfield for pick 2 it would be our steal of this century.

you'd rather pick 2 than dangerfield?? you guys serious

he is strong, quick, big for a midfielder, would fit into our scheme of things beautifully, and for only pick 2... adelaide wouldnt do it though

I was there and would do #2 for him in a heartbeat. What are the odds we'd get a guy that good with a number two pick even in the best years?

Very dodgey kick for goal and its premature and reckless to contemplate offering pick #2 for him.

Good player but we dont need him.

10 to 1

He is a rare type and would be worth pick 2 without doubt.

Exactly. I reckon it's amazing. He's more than earned his place in two finals now, and he's not even out of his teens. We have a number of players in roughly the same range in terms of age, who haven't even proven it in H&A, LET ALONE a finals series. We'd basically be getting a sure thing.

My only concern is that even if Trengove is the kind of player that only flirts with superstardom, he will be a genuine lifetime midfielder. And a really, really good midfielder beats an amazing forward any day of the week. That's why we see the Davis', Didaks and Davey's of this world drift into the midfield, where their genius can mean more to the result of a game. My question with Dangerfield is, will he make his name as a goal-kicker, or a genuine mid? If he plays mostly out of the guts, then yes, pick #2 is probably a good risk. And I think even Adelaides' recruiters' ears would [censored] up at the suggestion of trading pick 2 for him. Trengove is a S.A. boy, and I'm sure they've been watching him closely.

If we regard the deal as a bit one-sided their way, perhaps Dangerfield and pick #13 for our pick #2... Pipe dreams? Is the draft too skinny?

Good player but we dont need him.

???

You know we just came 16th, right?

Rate Dangerfield.

I rate him highly and the Adelaide supporters are in love with the kid. It's sort of funny that having pick 2 could also be a handicap. Is he worth #2? Not sure but maybe not. Pick 5/6/7/8 definately. Maybe to get him we might have to trade away a good player to get a top 10 pick. Would Sydney like Mclean for their first round pick? - he might just suit the SCG? Would Adelaide then take that and (maybe) 18 or (maybe) 34 for Dangermouse? In a perfect world I would love us to somehow get 1,2 and a gun kid but I just don't see it happening unless Dangermouse has pretty much told the Cows that he is going home come hell or highwater and he is happy to go in the PSD. Still it's nice to dream at this time of year.

Disclaimer: I love Brock and think he is a great clubman but I'm pretending that I have the cold, hard job of working this stuff out. I'm glad I will never have to do it in real life.

Bravo. Too often you see posters come on and call for this player or that to be traded, which causes dissent, which in turn calls for the original poster to have to appear to be backpedalling.

Calling for a Brock trade is no insult to the man. You have ot trade something to get something, and he'd be one of very few players with market value on the list. It doesn't mean he's damaged goods. Not at all. It also speaks volumes for the value of Dangerfield, that we bring up Brock's name.

Yeh I was at the game, everything about him spells pure gun. Great smarts, really strong through the hips I reckon. Pick 2? Maybe, maybe not....I'd probably keep pick 2 in a toss of the coin.

Yes, he is a midfielder. He's big and strong for the middle, but has the speed and agility to dominate in the guts. Did you see him right before the siren last night? He very nearly got the ball out on his own. That effort really sold me on him. He will be a star sooner or later.

dave mackay is better than dangerfield. pure silk

Mackay is a mad Demons fan, said he grew up going to all theyre games with his parents as they were big Dee fans, cried the day the Crows beat us in the 2002 finals.Would love to get him home to Melbourne 1 day as its always good to have someone that would bleed for your club

lol, pick 2 for dangerfield. now i've heard it all!..late first round selection at best

Pardon the pun but I think Dangerfield could turn out a freak. He shows the maturity of a 5 year player. WOW- when he gets fit with the stamina to run out 120 minutes of football as a true midfielder. He will become a freak in my opinion. I would have him as our Selection 2. An already proven performer with great upside against an unproven.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
