Channel 10 Commentary

Amateur hour. Had the feel of a country league game with 30 people watching and car horns sounding after each goal.

Her voice annoyed the hell out of me - I actually found it very hard to watch the game.

she was no worse than the rest of the team.

Absolutely inadequate coverage including

No mention of interchange players at the start of a quarter

no mention of particular players coming off/going on

no coverage of the MFC interchange bench--at one point Jetta[who played well early] was not seen for ages leading to our speculation that he was injured. By contrast we saw more of Matthew Stokes calves than is healthy!

a concentration only on better known players whereas, eg Bartram had a good game but barely attracted a mention.

I think Kelli should be given a fair go.............they should give her the job fo commentating on the Frem v Port, Bris v Frem, Syd v Frem games.

That would mean having to listen to her voice.

No thanks.

What do you listen or watch the above mentioned games I posted? I suggested these because I can guarantee I'm not interested in these types of games. And I'm not the least bit interested in listening to her. ;)

Where possible I'll watch any game. Ask my wife.

She (now) hates football. I have to be very careful.

Commentating is a Tough Gig, if you want to be Good at it. Breathing, Rythm,Painting a continuous Picture etc.

I Admire her for having a crack. That said she is just not cut for it. But if Channel 10 Pay Andy Maher they will employ anyone...

but she was a women was she not? i was not being sexist just merely describing the goal umpire. or am i not allowed to mention she was a women for fear of coming across as sexist?

It was totally relevant being that she was a women.

It was a goal umpiring mistake and therefore her gender had nothing to do with. Quite obvious, I would have thought.

Bias in a commentator I can cope with. I just think less of them. What I have no time for is the 2 second behind the play commentary and the not knowing players names, but there was a play where one of our players was steaming down the wing (appols to whoever it was) and he nailed Green on the chest in the pocket, honouring a beautiful lead, and that stupid Underwood's call was "He has no options". That sort of stuff should have her sacked on the spot.

Sexism aside, she was rubbish and that comment summed it up! ;)

Most of her comments were no worse than the likes of Huddo, BT, and Quarters. It's just hearing a female voice commentating a game that is extremely blokey is jarring. Just as it'd be jarring hearing a male voice commentating netball (not that i watch it!).

If you did watch it you'd realise that there are male netball commentators, as Trident has said (and they're fine, just like it'd be fine to have a quality female footy commentator IMO).

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
