Well done Grimesy!

Absolute stand out performance of the round and thoroughly deserved Jack!

I sponsor him with a group of people, he is a fantastic guy who has MFC Captain written all over him.

congrats and well deserved !!!!

About bloody time, well done young fella

congrats and well deserved !!!!

I don't want to pat myself on the back too much , and I may have been stating the ' bleeding obvious ' but I did pick it in my 3 word player analysis this week ( ' a certain nominee ' )

He should finish top 3 for the award Rich is a shoe in though , all the judges/commentators want to boof him
Right now Rich will win. But if Grimes has another 3-4 games like on the weekend and plays the remaining 8 games lookout! He can win. Will be captain in 3 years time barring injury.

And of the 9 games or so he's played it's one of the rare three word summaries you've given where you've said something positive about him.

No credit to you about Grimes Joeboy, you're last on board a very crowded bandwagon.

Yep I reckon if he keeps up his form he is a chance to steal it. He is finally getting noticed by the media and pulls out big numbers each week. A definite chance.

Well done Grimey you superstar! :D

Can't believe we traded Travis for this hack.

:P

Rich needs to get injured or really fall off on his form for Grimes to win. Wallet speaking, I really hope so.

Well deserved to the young feller!

Watching the replay of the game on fox sports now and he really was an absolute ball magnet on the day, love the way he backs him self.

Great stuff. Over the long haul, it wouldn't surprise me if Grimesy turns out to be seen by the football public as the pick of his draft year, which includes the likes of Kruezer and Cotchin. Well done Jack!

great win for the nom Grimes, but heres is a strange stat, the last 2 rising star winners (Selwood and Palmer) where pick 7. The number 7 pick this year is Rich, lets hope history doesnt repeat itself

About time.

Was always going to get it if we won, that's how good he's been. Goot to see Joeboy taking credit for a player who he has regularly derided in his 9-game career getting a Rising Star nomination that pretty much everyone on the site had anticipated he'd get.

Will be a legend.

45hotgod - preparing for the coming of the Grimes!

Agree.

Me too  .......

Congrats to young Jack on a well deserved reward!!!

I haven't raved about him in the past , it's true , but I have RARELY said anything negative either . I really like the kid .

Funny that he hasn't been nominated until now though , if he's been as oustanding as so many Demonlanders , including you ,have purported .

One player i am looking forward to watching for the next 10 - 15 years

Well done Captain Grimes

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
