28 points behind now, getting killed by constant turnovers, spending most of the third quarter in the saints goal square.

Jmac back on field, phew.

C'mon Dees keep at 'em don't give up.

F'ing pathetic as usual in the third.

We're trying and the pressure is there, but we don't have a forward target and we keep breaking down across the half forward line. Where the hell was Bate?

And just how many times can SENIOR footballers (especially Bruce), turn the damn ball over and make stupid decisions?!

Hospital passes or just handballs that miss the target all together is not acceptable from players who have nearly 200 games of experience under their belt. Junior too!

The umpires have been disgraceful. How the hell did Warnock not get a free for being smashed into the turf? And why wasn't Bate's free awarded play on?

Stupid stupid turnover's - basic f'ing handballs to open players missing targets - NOT GOOD ENOUGH FROM PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALLERS

only just shading the blatant one sided umpring decisions for our current predicament!

We're getting murdered by the umpires, we have lacked any luck, failed to take most of our chances, are playing a very good (and physically strong) side, and we are only a few goals down.

Good signs.

But! Can we PLEASE stop stuffing up our short "gives" and fumbling the ball in traffic.

senior players are letting us down badly with there turnovers.....

This has been the case for 2 years

there will be a time when the new will replace the old (and those who are NOT AFL standard)

throwing boys into the side at this stage isnt the answer either

one thing is for sure is that not many demons would ever get leather poisoning

Oh how i wish they would just kick the dam thing

I didn't comment on the Robbo issue and dropping him, because in essence I agree with the decision, however I would just like to make two comments:

1- You can't drop one senior player for not performing, but let someone like Bruce continue to turn the ball over and make really terrible decisions every single week. I realise that Robbo was dropped for accountability reasons, but at least Robbo contributes 2-3 goals a game, while Bruce is costing us goals at the moment

2- You can't drop the only, and I repeat, only deep forward we have capable to taking marks and kicking goals consistently, and not even attempt to find a replacement

How many times did we go inside 50 to nothing? Either play Green out of the square, and have our midfielders kick to him on the lead, or play Martin at FF and bomb it long. Jamar and PJ are not forward targets.

And finally, we will continue to lose, competitiveness or no competitiveness, until we can eliminate the completely unnecessary amount of ill-directed handballs and start winning some contested footy on the back of long kicks (taking a mark one on one seems a completely foreign concept to us, and it goes back to my second point in regards to Robbo).

On the plus side, I thought our backline was brilliant under constant siege and Grimes (and Maric and Bennell) will be a star!

Not bad signs.

If we can can run with the best teams in the AFL for the last couple of games and only miss out due to skills which can be improved.

I'm very positive about our future. We haven't been disgraced I think.

The senior players that should be better and have no excuse for their basic mistakes, are a thing of the past for us. We are young and on the rise.

Jaded - I tend to agree with you on your two points; though on point 2 - i will say this; we cant kick goals if we dont have players in the forward 50. No point trying to kick goals if ALL of our players are behind the ball.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

The Demons head back to Melbourne after an embarrassing loss to the Dockers to take on the Magpies at the MCG on Kings Birthday. With a calf injury to Lachie Hunter and Jacob van Rooyen possibly returning from injury who comes in and who goes out?
