Will only play seniors when either Johnson or Spencer are injured IMO.

I wonder if he is being put in cotton wool for next year and allow him to develop further at VFL?

Jamar's playing for his career, the second half of the season will show us if he has anything to offer moving forward! Personally I think he could be of value but needs to have more impact around the ground, get more of the footy, hurt the opposition etc but i'm sure we and Jamar are all aware of this. I.m looking forward to seeing the Russian back out on the park.

He's a massive dude he should just go out their and smash heads.

I think PJ can be used in more positions than Jamar and we know he can kicks goals.

I wish we had nat

Wow ! I'll have a better day now.

I just... I just don't know what to think of that. The sarcasm button on my computer is busted. I don't know if you're serious or not.

I don't. Happy with Watts. :)

Id take watts over nat as well but we could have had both.

that is actually very true!

yeh but if we hadnt of won that game against carlton we could have had watts & nat, and then we could have had scully and butcher... we would be set for a premiership!!

We do?? Really??

Paul Johnson - 50 games 14 goals 13 behinds.

Mark Jamar - 66 games 22 goals 8 behinds.

I think the belief that PJ is some sort of natural goal kickers is a mirage in some posters mind.

It's a good point RR. I think the PJ looks as if he could play in a number of positions, but he doesn't. Too much about him is 'as if', not 'has done and succeeded'.

Pure speculation.

Yes...

If we had Nat, he might not have done his knee...he might have debuted for the Dees.....and god forbid we might have been 3 and 4 at this stage...on our way to 6+ wins.....hence no scully or butcher.....

Like I said.....that's all pure speculation.....should've, could've, would've...

I know Jamar hasn't set the world on fire, but that's a tad insulting to him.

I just think he's had ample opportunity over the last few years to cement his place and hasn't taken it. Meesen's been impressive in his 4 games and Spencer's a long term project. He needs to show why he should be played ahead of PJ and I'm yet to see why.

The reason he stays on the list is simple. Against WC we had one fit ruckman available, if we had 3 on the list we had Stef martin rucking a whole game.

If memory serves me correctly the big Russian was also one of our leading tacklers per game avg. and was a leading contested possesion getter, my memory could be slightly wring on the possesions thing, but he was a avg. in our top 3 or 4 for tackles per game

Agree.

Don't know where this belief has come from other than being conjured up by our desperate need for a key forward.

Paul Johnson is not a forward.

Id still say Johnson is more dangerous in the FWD half then Jamar.

Pity you have no logical basis to make that assessment.

I'll fill the first canteen at the mirage.

i was thinking more along the lines of.. we get watts and nat.. nat injures himself.. so he and watts take most of the season until they debut (training up, getting bigger, etc)..so not much different to this season.. so we get all four of them suited up the next season (watts, nick nat, scully, butcher)...hooha!!

i know its specualtion.. but its fun to dream!!

should-izzle, could-izzle, would-izzle!!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
