It's certain to say that the next five weeks are our toughest of the season. Granted, the Eagles are no longer a power, but a trip to Perth is always a task. Following that we have the Dogs, then the Hawks, the Saints and finally Collingwood on Queens Birthday.

This time last season such a run would have us preparing for 100 point thrashings.

This season, we can be a little more hopeful.

With such a young team, competing their best week in week out, my question is, what exactly do we expect from the next five weeks?

What would be a good result?

Posted

Some at least closer games. What did we get beaten by today? 40 odd points? And thats a victory for us apparently because we didnt get beaten by 100 points. Get beaten by 7 goals every week and the confidence will drop and we may see some of those 100 point margins again. If they can take todays effort to perth they WILL beat the eagles. But they usually leave any effort at tullamarine airport. When was the last time we won interstate anyways?

No injuries. If not win. Losses in between 0-45 would be competitive and to play good football. Improvement of our core of youngsters and Aaron Davey still dominating.

1 win. QBD.

agreed. beating the pies would be the sweetest victory of all...damn Collingwood supporters!

Nope, just damn Collingwood ;) !!!

One win. Most likely next week against the eagles, although QB would be sweet. All losses under 10 goals, with a couple of close, 'honorable' losses thrown in. 2-9 at the half way mark would probably be a decent result for the club given 4 or less wins for the year is most likely.

Would love to win the QB clash.....

But I have a funny feeling we will beat the West Coke Dealers next Sunday....

I think Subiaco will suit our style and I actually think the boys will put it all together and jag the win!

id be happy if we lost all of those games as i understand the need for that priority pick. Nevertheless i'd like to see bennell improve as im not that impressed thus far.

No wins, no injuries and to see the return to the side of Whelan, Wonna, Grimes and Green. No ten goal defeats.

We need to save our three remaining wins for West Coast round 14, Port Adelaide round 15 anf Fremantle round 20.

QB clash would be nice to be a one kick ball game.

In that case we'll have to hope Port Adelaide beat us at the G. Back to 4!

We are much improved.

We should roll the Eagles and Pies, without question.

We will give every team we play a run for their money.

I think the Hawks game could be winnable (ish).

I know they're getting some players back and gaining momentum but I just think we match up against them alright. that said we'd be much better off with Garland back, is he back by then?

EDIT: No

The Cleveland Steamer looks familiar, just can't quite put my finger on it.

OK, here's a different question.

Of the five games, which one are you worried most about?

I'd probably say the Hawks. They seem to be getting their act together.

I'd put the Saints second.

Eagles - we win this by 34 points. We are better than them in every area.

Dogs - we could easily win this, they are the softest side going around

Hawks - premiership hangover, an overweight Buddy. We can win this too.

Saints - they arent as good as their record says. And they definitely wont go 22-0. We will beat them'

Collingwood - easy win. Pies are stale, slow and boring.

Ahh you got to love it.

So we'll be 6-5 at halfway.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
