  1. Perhaps if Jack Watts were a black man then we would say "wow" more and marvel at his skills. Being white, however, means he is harder to pick out.
  2. But Australia Post tells us not to send money through the mail, I wouldn't want to get in trouble. Furthermore, proceeds received in cash still need to go through a bank account to get them to MFC.
  3. You idiot. That's my thought. Am I the only one who won't be disappointed if we win tomorrow? I can imagine the panic on this forum tomorrow if we win: threads like - "What were we thinking? winning the game!" "Butcher and Scully in jeopardy our rebuilding is ruined" "We HAVE to lose to either Richmond, West Coast or Port Adelaide"
  4. Oh no, we can't beat Collingwood! We need to show competiveness, give a four quarter effort, before going down by a goal. Then we can all go home happy and relieved that we will not win more than four matches this year.
  5. Brent Moloney for me. He loves his club and I think he would be a great leader. Otherwise, Neita3000's Jack Grimes suggestion isn't bad.
  6. I know, surely Rance and Selwood could have used their peripheral vision to see each other coming and turned slightly so they hip and shouldered each other. What they did was dangerous, and they're lucky not to be more seriously injured.
  7. Out - Frawley, Rivers, Bate In - Jetta, Spencer, Whelan Dunn did a reasonable job at Subiaco. I'm surprised he is being mentioned ahead of Bate. Bate is a joke of a football player. Almost down there with Newton. Robertson should move up to replace Bate's half forward flank position and Jetta come in to the forward pocket.
  8. 6 - Cale Morton 5 - Brent Moloney 4 - Nathan Jones 3 - Brad Miller 2 - Jamie Bennell 1 - Stefan Martin
  9. Yeah, the volume is certainly a problem. It's hard to get excited about our boys running through the banner when "It's a Grand Old Flag" is barely audible. I agree, what especially annoys me is that the music doesn't stop until just before the opening bounce of each quarter. I think against Richmond, it kept playing in the first few seconds of the game.
  10. What does this mean? What is a 'natural footballer'? What aspects or characteristics of Bell's game makes him a 'natural footballer'?
  11. I love the 'really, I do!' bit in the title. Thanks for clearing up any chances of sarcasm. On paper we should be right up there, but too often interstate we give away easy goals quickly and seem to play like a different side. West Coast will probably win, but if we play with the same intensity as against Geelong, but are able to make goals out of our opportunities, we'll be there with a chance.
  12. I think he needs to discover how to mark overhead not rediscover; I don't think he's ever been good at it. Out - Bate In - Jetta
  13. Keeping all defeats under 50 points and winning one (most likely against Collingwood I suppose.)
  14. Yes. He can't mark, and can't win the ball in a one on one situation.
  15. Anywhere, as long as it's for Casey and not the Dees.
  16. Two sections away from my brother and I today, were a number of Melbourne players: Jetta, Garland, Strauss, Grimes, Zomer, Buckley, Wonaeamirri, Newton amongst others. A number of our players apparently had not eaten yet, and made use of the catering facilities available at the MCG. Hot dogs, pies, chips, soft drink - I saw them, being consumed by our boys who should be making better choices than that. Wonaeamirri had a Coke Zero, Jetta had a Coke Zero and a chocolate bar, Zomer had chips, but worst of all was Simon Buckley. He had a pie and chips, and anyone who has had chips before at the MCG would be aware of the generous serving size. I wouldn't be so scathing of Simon Buckley had I not seen him last year Queens 's birthday morning on Flinders street with Stefan Martin and others, paper McDonald's bag in hand. Come on Bucks, two incidents like this, no wonder you're not in the seniors team.
  17. 6 - James Frawley 5 - Cale Morton 4 - Brent Moloney 3 - Aaron Davey 2 - Stefan Martin 1 - Russell Robertson
  18. And may Newton never play for the Melbourne Football Club ever again.
  19. Are you sure? Yesterday was a poor performance: Tredrea marking in the 35/40-metre-out directly-in-front area many times with ease, Motlop passing Frawley for an easy goal, and a general luck of accountability for their opponent. The have a while to go yet before they are one of the leagues' best back line.
  20. It's a good idea in theory but we would struggle with a source. The Melbourne website updates the injury list infrequently so an injury list thread would probably be largely speculative unless someone from the club could update it weekly.
  21. I think he's lucky. It was quite a forceful blow to the throat, but I'm happy he got off. He shouldn't and probably won't be dropped so now he can help us beat Richmond next week.
  22. In - Spencer, Wonaeamirri, Maric Out - Johnson, Dunn, Sylvia Johnson being omitted is a must. He showed no endeavour for the ball, and when he had it he disposed poorly. Keep Spencer and Meesen as the two rucks until Jamar comes back for mine.
  23. I'm happy he got that penalty. You can't get away with a hit like that.
  24. Quite critical, but also clever and entertaining joeboy.
