Hey guys, just wondering if anyone thinks we are a chance this sunday.... I think that we will lose by about 7~10 goals... So here guys put your thoughts forward... My score prediction is Melbourne 10.8.68 to geelong 17.10.122...

In my heart I'm optimistic, however I think we'll get killed. A lot of young blokes will get toweled up on Sunday and all I hope is that they watch, follow, tackle and learn. 10 goal loss at least is my realistic answer. My optimistic answer... Showing we're not push overs and making the cats earn a win if they can even get that.

Melbourne 12.9.81

Geelong 18.21.129

Goals - Davey 3, Robbo 2, Miller 2, Newton 2, McLean 1, Jones 1, Maric 1

Best - Davey, McLean, Petterd, Jones, Martin, Bruce

Davey to have his career best game with 33 touches and 3 goals

McLean to get 30 touches and heaps of clearances

Newton to keep his spot (at expense of Bate) and take some telling marks and kick straight.

Petterd to return to half back where he belongs.

Outside the Richmond game, this will be our best performance of the year.

The betting line for the game is Melbourne +59.5 points.

So I will say we'll beat the line which would be a 'victory' of sorts.

Geelong 101, Melbourne 59.

i think the catters may have a mini let down, dropping their guard against us, so only recording, Oh , '64, odd points, for the margin.

I'll have a punt

Our score - 7 - 11 = 53

margin - - - - - - - - 64

Their score - - - - = 117

That works for me BBP, it would could still probably be regarded as a best case scenario, but that would give us some dignity at least!!!

Apropos......

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
