Two deals to be done Thursday or Friday

Just speaking to an MFC employee who happens to be a family friend.

Absolutely locked in that we will be sending Aaron Davey and pick 19 to Port Adelaide in exchange for pick 4 and Greg Bentley.

The other deal that will happen is minor but a bit of a surprise and that is Michael Newton going to the Bulldogs for their 3rd round pick.

ps. My thoughts are that it will be sad to lose Aaron Davey, but the club probably thinks the emergence of Maric and Wonna has made him expendable.

And pick 4 is too good to pass up, I am pumped about it. If we do take Watts at pick 1, we will still be able to add a Naitanui, Hurly, Hartlett or Sidebottom.

Really doubt it's going to happen....especially since you've said it's absolutely locked in which you see/hear 100 times during trade week every year

If it does then credit to you, but I'd be very surprised if it does

i'll keep it civil.

IF this were to happen it would be a massive win for us, i dont know much about bentley but davey and 19 for pick 4 would be great so anything on top is a bonus.

Newton for a 3rd round is just getting rid of dead weight as far as i am concerned, newton may relish the chance at the bulldogs but as far as a melbourne player goes i think he is to soft and uncomitted, tries to take the hanger and gives away a free instead sort of stuff, we've waited long enough and he hasnt shown enough

but like most others on here, i think these deals only get done in my dreams

About 4 years ago I would've taken this thread with a grain of salt.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

If true though, could you imagine next year's team without Green, Wheatley, Davey and Chris Johnson on top of our regulation 15 injuries :o

Now thats rebuilding!!

-just say it happens (obviously fake sorry YM)

-i will be sad to see davey go but this would be one of the clubs biggest oppurtunities in years

-suddenly, we say goodbye to davey and i know he can turn a game around (but he rarely has)

and we could add watts and vickery to our line-up wow!

btw, im not that exited about sidebotton just yet

I would be extremely happy if you are right!

I have been putting up DAVEY and PICK 19 or DAVEY and GREEN for a while now for PORTS PICK 4. Bonus if Bentley came along aswell.

If the NEWTON deal goes through I would be happy with that also.

I hope your right Yze_Magic! Else you might be renamed Yze_Doozie!

YM, thanks for passing on this intell. Ignore the sheep who say otherwise - they can stick with the Herald Sun's analysis. If nothing else, such rumours make us think about the value of players on the current list. I hope it comes true.

Moreover, if people don't want to read the threads that you initiate, well, why don't they direct their energies elsewhere unless they get some sort of strange kick by calling you a [censored].

As usual Y_M, the ANKLES Country Member, bends the truth.

Holland WAS NOT PUNCHED!!!

He was hurt trying to hold N C up and they both fell.

Ankles, never let the truth get in the way of a good crap story.

Go back to cleaning those tissues.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
