Recommended Posts

Delisted Essendon player Andrew Lee has been reported on Demonology too be going to do a pre-season with the Dee's.

And is Colin Garland's cousin..... But I thought they were all cousin's down in Tassie?

I dont know alot about him. Except he is injury prone, is 196cm, 94kg and look's a bit like Dean Brogan. Not sure on the last one!

He might be worth a punt if very cheap!

Would surely be worth drafting as a rookie. Possibly even through the PSD or as a late national draft pick depending on the people that are available. Personally I'd like to think that Warnock, Ray, O'Keefe or Prismall may be available in the PSD instead.

He definately won't be picked up in the National Draft by us. He is more likely to come as a Rookie selection or as a late PSD draft selection, I'd personally favour a rookie listing given his injury woes thus far.

Just a little more on Andrew, I saw alot of his junior football when he played with the Burnie Dockers but mostly with the Tassie Mariners, in which he was captain and easily one of the most dominant big men in his 2 years, being used initially in a defensive role but then as a key lead up CHF.

He is a extremely athletic for 196cm and was 4th overall in the agility testing at his draft camp. He has a strong pair of hands and generally picks the right option by hand and foot, not unlike his cousin.

The down side have been his injuries which have restricted his chances at the top level. When he was fit and firing in 2006, he was dominant in Bendigo's side and was promoted and played well enough to suggest he had a future in the 4 or 5 games he put together before he was injured and didn't return.

Like I said, he couldn't hurt as a rookie selection to see if he can get his body right.

You are in actual fact wrong Demon_Tingles.... Andrew Lee is indeed the cousin of Colin Garland. Colin's father who he has nothing to do with is brothers with Andrew Lee's father, thus making them biological cousins.

haha prbably because he is right footed mate

AFL players SHOULD be more than capable on both feet.

Any 22 yr old that we'd think of drafting would need to be, at least...

Does he now.... and you saw this where or you based it on 1 AFL game when his left foot found an opposing player?

Watch his games for the Mariners in 03/04?

How about any of his games for Bendigo?

He's a terribly one sided player who knows he can't use his left, so he tries to checkside everything with his right foot.

He was also the recepient of one of the greatest bakes I've ever seen between a Coach/Player last year vs. Nth Bullants. Knights ripped into him.

whatever MFC does in this trade period/draft period will be for the good of the club. they will select/get players who they think will be good... they are more experts than us, so no one can say he is [censored], unless they work as a talent scout or footy list manager/operations manager.

I liked what I saw with him but if he really is as bad as people say then there is no point getting him. Anybody that tall and built is worth it but if you want someone with minimal risk look at nathan grima. out of contract as he was only on one year rookie .. worth it .. http://www.kangaroos.com.au/TheClub/Player...09&typeid=1

AFL players SHOULD be more than capable on both feet.

Being able to kick on both feet should almost be selection criteria for this club. I'm sick of seeing Green, Bate and others who kick exclusively off one foot (Yze was another), get themselves into sticky situations and mess things up because they just can't kick at all on their non-preferred.

I know it's not easy to do that, but if it came down to a toss of the coin, if one player could kick with both feet they'd get my vote.

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
