Wasn't Bluey one of the main protagonists over at Demonology?

Nah, Bluey was a Legend.
He'd chime in with some biting wit about the club that was usually on the money that the snowflakes would lose their minds over.
Never bothered arguing over any of his posts.
He'd lob a grenade and watch the carnage.
Always amused me.

Demonology was great in its day.

I remember doing a write-up for the site on one of those Member Forums they used to have at the Bentleigh Club. This was back when Paul Gardner and Bev O'Connor were on the Board.

There may have been some crossover with Demonland, but I also have memories of another board member Peter Dohrmann actually posting on Demonology, and I'm pretty sure even recruiting guru Craig Cameron did at one stage as well.

And there was even the chance to meet people on the forum in 'real life' when posters volunteered at the club, and went to their offices and called up lapsed members.

Of course before Demonology, there was a Melbourne Demons e-mail mailing list thing which I joined. If only I still had my Ozemail account.

All true and I was in that mailing list too ...

The Demonology personalities sound like they were far more abrasive than on here.

There were some doozies for sure. But it was good in its day. I was asked on Kevin Bartlett's radio show which one is best (surprised he knew there were two, let alone one) and I boosted ology! Before it degraded, obviously. (Shout out to 'land mods.)

Bluey was a character.

Used to enjoy Craig Cameron's contributions as CaC63 if I remember correctly.

What a trip, I was just wondering about GSmith (Graeme) a couple of days ago and thought about posting, enquiring about what he’s up to. Glad to hear he’s enjoying retirement. We had a good rapport.

I remember Rono (TGR) calling this place Strawberry Fields, because it was all positivity and niceties. Yeah nah, add that to the list of [censored] he got wrong. Haven’t seen him around for a while.

What about Rollo? Is he still around?

Rollo popped on here out of nowhere about a month ago and had stated that I think he's in an old folks home. I tried to start up further conversation just to see how he was tracking but didn't get a response.

Rollo was a highly respected member years ago. He alongside @Whispering_Jack were big organisers in the Forum Footy against other internet club forums.

Rollo use to live in wangaratta where I also lived and we had many great discussion about footy and life I general.  I hope he is going well still.

Used to read it back in the day but I can't recall if I ever posted there...unless that was the site where we used to go to war with other clubs supporters I remember a particularly vicious battle with members of Dockerland where I felt I had to get involved to protect our club's honour...I doubt they infiltrated here...

Another 'Ology member here from the early days. Many fond memories of the argy-bargy that occurred on a regular basis. Some great, and provocative, posters there back in the day. My moniker was on_the_bench.

How's this for a bump?!?

I came from demonology originally, can remember thinking this joint was wack and the 7 active posters on demonology were way smarter than you bunch of lunatics. From memory it was around the time Ricky Petterd was running around, always liked that guy.

Anyone else from/remember demonology?

Wow, this thread and all the old demonology usernames is a bit of a blast from the past!

He was such a character. I’ve never met him but we had some top banter on ol ‘ology.

Is Range Rover still there? I know he retreated to 'Land during the constant aggro on this board concerning whether Neeld and CS should stay or go.

His legendary (if slightly self aggrandizing and delusional) resignation letter still makes me chuckle.

I found Range Rover highly entertaining

He could see the imminent Train Wreck of 2013 happening

A lot of people just didn’t want to believe it

Fully agree on the point that he was correct on what was to come. However, his sign off was a bit much!

Absolutely agree. But it was a shame

He sent me loads of PM’s back in the day, as we agreed on a lot about what was going down.
Sadly his exuberance got the better of him on here

But i do miss reading some of his rants, and he would write 3-4 in quick succession!!

Definitely.

Though it must be said he wasn't Robinson Crusoe there. At that time, sometimes the hyperbole of the message overshadowed some basic truths about their content. I include myself in that category.

I tend to be less negative today than I was then. But bloody hell, you couldn't say that the vitriol wasn't deserved at times.

Kudos to the mods of that time who were able to read the play and not be as officious with censoring some of the furiously incandescent posts of the day.

I didn't mind Range Rover at 'Ology.
He often kept threads rolling which was often needed at times of quiet.
Couldn't handle TGR.
Was sure he typed with one hand while pleasuring himself with the other.

Totally agree. The Club was a total wreck at that time, and Members and Supporters were hurting bad.
i left the Essendrug 148 game at 3/4 time. I never did that before. It was my tipping point. Players were running away from the ball

I posted on demonology 8 or 9 years ago simply because it was the first fan site I found.  It was just after the brothers tried to take over the site.  There was a chap by the name of Jarrad who was running it then.  I think he hoped to generate enough income from the site to cover hosting and license costs but there was never enough traffic.  Then Radar? took over the management.

I organised the Grinter? votes per round for a number of seasons, which was ok when we won, but a dead loss when we lost (Me myself and I plus number one son had to vote to make up the numbers).

Whether it was Demonology or Demonland it was always passionate (sometimes crazed) supporters of the MFC.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
