OK i have two players who will not cost anything and can be late draft picks or even PSD

1) Toddy Grima, Was cut by Geelong because of salary cap but was in their vfl premireship side and has a lot of potential. Very good player for KP and is playing very very well in the SANFL. Both his brothers on afl lists atm and he deserves to be given another chance because he will be a very good player. Also a very humble guy and a great bloke as i played at North Launceston with him a few years back.

2) Andrew Lee, recently cut by Essendon due to injuries but i know for a fact that they had very high hopes for him. His body will finally be right for this pre season and I think he is worth the punt. He has a great size and is very mobile and will be a good player either forward or back. In my opinion these two are very much worth using picks on.

Considering at the start of the year I did say that Colin Garland will have a blinder of a year and I had people disagreeing but it turned out I was correct in saying so. Also knowing Todd i know that he will be a very good acquisition as he also can play forward or back.

So they are my two KPP's that I think we should go for with late picks.

Both are spuds. May help Sacey next year though. You are clutching at straws man. Straws I tells ya.

Granted Andrew Lee may not be the greatest but Todd Grima is a good player and someone tall and well built is what we need and he will be a steal use a very late pick.

What's he done since being delisted?

How about Podsy and that bloke who played CHF for the SANFL in the game versus the Vics.

Surprised neither of those 2 were given more of a crack at AFL (Podsy and the Pies and the other bloke at the Kangas).

Reckon Leigh Brown could be culled by the Roos at years end and when he's up and going is a very handy player, unfortunately I think he's just about done his dash on the big stage

i for one was very intrested in todd grima! i watched him last year on tv and he would kick a bag and was very impressed! bit shocked geelong delisted him as i thought he was worth anothher go.

have not heard of the other bloke though.

I thought Grima was a promising prospect. Reminded me so much of Brian Lake (Harris).

Last year I would of been happy to get him but if we do this year I wouldnt be dissapointed at all. If we were to take him in the PSD it would be a risk that would pay off in a big way or fail.

It would be worth it. He is only 22 has size and talent and can kick bags and is proven at afl and vfl level

he made vfl team of the year last year. Worth the risk instead of some 18 year old who might be a dud

sorry i meant sanfl and vfl . He was delisted because geelong had nathan ablett, tom lonergan, tom hawkins, cameron mooney and all those forwards so no room in the salary cap and look what happened to geelong. They delist players and the vfl team goes from premiers to not making finals

I like the concept of drafting players who are well performed at state level, with low draft picks. Jason Porplyzia and Aaron Edwards are 2 players that come to mind. Both were delisted from AFL clubs, then redrafted at the age of around 22.

Recruiters tend to use low draft picks for under 18 players, with so called "upside". Most of them turn out to be lemons.

Not much to like there..

Cockshell, Murphy, even Schulz (cough) better options than those..

As far as a KPP go that may be available and still young I'd like to see Melbourne look at S. O'hailpin from Carlton. Although he makes some mistakes no one can deny that there isn't any talent there and with Carlton playing Fevola/Fisher/Waite/Bower/Jamison and Thornton, O'hailpin has dropped off their radar some what. He can play forward back or in the ruck and could develop into a great FF?

Another player that (who isn't KPP) but is a classy midfielder and struggled to get a game the last two years is Kane Tenace from Geelong. He has pace and uses the ball well and could be that classy midfielder that Melbourne is looking for? Still young also!

I'll pass on both.

O'hailpin - Great FF? Never

Tenace - uses the ball well and could be that classy midfielder that Melbourne is looking for? Never

Podsy has been a fantastic player at VFL level for Werribee. They will go close this season in the finals.

There are reasons that a player gets booted from the list of two decent clubs (Brisbane and Port)..... Not worth a pinch of shi*t.... Ask Mr Mackie from South Park why....

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
