How come they never put Petterd in the bests?

For the people who were there, would you say Holland played better then Petterd?

I have a theory they are keeping Petterd on 10 games so he is a shot for the rising star award in '09

I'd say equal, Holland played a very smart game positioning himself well & causing frankston headaches trying to take the ball out of their defensive zone, played with desperation & committment.

It would be good to see Petterd recalled to the Dees to rejuvinate his belief after a tough season & by dropping Bartram will hopefully be a reminder to him to develope his skills etc over summer. Hopefully refreshing both.

I think Benny Holland would love a crack @ his old team & could be usefull up forward.

Holland's inclusion in the best and Carrol being number 1 might have something to do with the roles they played. Two obvious non-ruckmen having to ruck the whole day. Pettard was good but lets not get carried away, he wasn't THAT great. And Maric actually had a pretty ordinary first half while his second was as good as anyones.

Good to hear Sandy finally had a strong win and some Melb boys played well.

Good luck to Sandy in hopefully reaching yet another finals campaign.

Cant wait to see Grimes in action next year!!

Here here, thanks Barry.

Although I did hear that Barry from Beach Road has an old mate from the RSL who is a Casey supporter and might take on the Casey newshound role for Demonland. Any truth to that rumour?

Thanks to everyone for your good wishes and particularly thanks to Whispering Jack who came out to the ground under difficult circumstances yesterday to present me with a memento for my contribution to Demonland over the years.

I'm a Sandy man through and through so I can't see myself doing reports from Casey but, in any event, I'm moving up north with the wife Mavis in a month's time. We're looking for a house in a street called Beach Road but we're about $10m short of the required price tag. If the Demon debt demolition works, I might try my own fundraiser, otherwise we'll find ourselves in the hinterland and away from the white shoe brigade.

My old RSL mate isn't a candidate for the Casey gig as he can't really write and usually spends the second half of any given game exercising his elbow in the bar. On the other hand, my youngest son Kevin Charles is a bit of a chip off the old block and is shifting to Cranbourne now that we're selling up our house. I'm training him for the job and hopefully, he will continue the family tradition.

Cheers.

Say gday to Kevin for me, has been a while since I've caught up with him. Tell him I'll shout him a beer if I see him at the finals.

Who'd have thought KC from Casey - has a nice ring to it doesn't it!!

Ha! KC. I bet he'd be rapt! So when a group of people watch Casey play with him, do they become the Sunshine Band? We could be like that fool that follows the Geelong VFL team and yell "that's the way, uh-ha uh-ha, I like it!"

Anyway thank you so very much for your contributions Baz. Always good to get the ear of stalwarts like yourself and you do bring a great deal of joy to to those at the game and also those at Demonland who can't get to the games.

Yeah well done Barry!! When I was at Sandy games I always wondered who you were. I pictured you to be a short old guy who spent his days at TBO wondering why Chris Lamb never made it at AFL level. Anyway, I look forward to hearing from KC, he must be honoured to be entrusted with continuing the tradition!!!

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns.
