So looking at the lineups, there's C.Lidell, B.Lidell for us, and Liddle and Riddle on the bench for them. Good luck to the 3XX boys if they're commentating this one!

And on a cold day and too many cups of tea you'd be bound to get caught short needing a widdle whilst commentating on Lidell, Bidell, Liddle and Riddle :o

Yep the 1611 AM boys will be there - so if your at the G you can take your radio and keep an ear on Sandy :)

I think the boys are thankful the Coburg commentary box has a heater and is above the Canteen :D

And that other great Johnner's classic" The batsmen's Holding, the bowlers Willey"...followed by a lot of tittering.

Then of course there was the day that Warnie was hit in the goolies by a googly from Ganguly !

Not unless you're going to the Frankston v Casey Scorps game tomorrow Peter.

However, you might want to try Andy Lovell. He'll be easier to access at this game! :rolleyes:

Cheers,

Bazza

This is a message I'm posting for Barry on account of the fact that his Kingswood broke down in Sydney Road on the way home and he's waiting for the RACV to arrive:

The Zebras fought hard to win the game after lagging behind by 21 points midway through the final term and again fell short by a narrow margin at Coburg today to fall out of finals contention.

Sandringham 3.1.19 8.6.54 9.8.62 13.10.88

Coburg Tigers 4.5.29 5.5.35 11.8.74 14.10.94

Goals

Sandringham Petterd Sautner 4 Holland 2 Biddlecombe Crowe Summers

Coburg Tigers Tivendale 6 Collard 2 Caruso Horne Hughes King Oakley-Nicholls Shelton

Best

Sandringham Biddlecombe Summers Liddell Gallagher Holland Meesen

Coburg Tigers Tivendale Rance Horne Shelton Hyde Graham

The reserves were well beaten by the unbeaten ladder leaders but are certain to play off in the finals.

Sandringham 2.1.13 3.2.20 3.4.22 5.7.37

Coburg Tigers 5.5.35 9.9.63 12.13.75 16.14.110

Goals

Coburg Tigers Dulic 4 Jones 3 Cattapan Lynch 2 Abdallah Clifton Currie Morgan Trajkovski

Best

For anyone near TBO on Saturday Jack Watts will be suiting up for sandringham dragons in the u/18's at 10:50 am

I went down to watch Watts today:

· Rarely sighted in the first half. The conditions weren't really suited to him but he worked into the game and his second half was very good;

· He has excellent evasive skills for a big man, likes to baulk past players and always gets away with it;

· In the second half he played as an onballer and was very effective;

· It was very surprising to not see him play in a key position;

· If Melbourne did pick him up I wouldn't be surprised if he was given plenty of time to find his feet.

On a side note Tyrone Vickery seems to have immense talent. A real Cox type mobile ruckman who is very good below his knees. He’s kicking looks a bit awkward but he hits his targets. He was rotated in the goal square in the third quarter which seemed to free up Kyle Martin (number 4) who kicked 3 third quarter goals. Anyone who saw Vickery in the Champs will confirm his ability to take a contested mark up forward.

I'm not a fan of when people say a player will be "certain top 5" or "surely first round" if they haven't watched a huge amount of under 18's football. This appears to me to be very un-educated. In saying this,Vickery would be the type of player that many clubs would be very keen to get their hands on, especially Melbourne.

Thanks for the update.

Kids at junior level often get to play in different positions which is great for their growth. He played CHB last week. It wouldn't help him if he was stuck at FF for months on end. He'll end up as a CHF I suspect, but he has the pace, skill, and evasiveness to be a mid. He's an amazing prospect.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

    Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

    The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

    In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

    CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

    The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
