Slightly weird question I know but be honest what do you reckon?

Dont be surprised if we make the 8 next year.

We will pump them next year! Top 16!

Seriously though i see it as 50/50

In just 8 weeks our group has learnt a lot (after that horrid start) and with a good run with injuries you never know. Mind you, wouldn't surprise me if we have another bad one, but i would be extremely surprised if it was this bad

Surely we'll go into next season in worse shape than more than half of the other teams...

We're likely to lose even more experience, with our best 22 including even more young and inexperienced players. While that may be great for the future, it's going to make for an inconsistent team.

I voted 30%.

I voted 30%. A small chance of making the 8.

And to say that we will struggle even more without experienced players is a cop out.

With the youth that are playing now, it is proof that we are more competitive without the senior players.

What do you mean only top 8? We will win the flag next year.

I hope your right. It would be an absolute dream.

CORRECTION: Reality check - There is no way we will win the flag next year.

I'd say 50%.

I think with a big tough pre-season, alot of our players who have the potential could step up. Im talking about the likes of Sylvia, CJ & Rivers.

I think if we play an exciting brand of footy like the Bulldogs do, we can make a run at the finals. But I'm not expecting to much, cause chances are I'll only end up dissapointed. Im optimistic though :).

Go Dees.

As Port Adelaide, the Bulldogs and West Coast have shown, it can all change between seasons. However with Hawthorn and Geelong establishing what look like multi-year dominances, I don't think a premiership may be available for 3 years anyway.

Multi-year dominances? Dees came close to Hawks last time, down at Geelong we looked good to.

Even at the Dees, it is proven how quick things can turn. Look at 1997-98 seasons then 2001-02, then 2003-04. It can be done.

Its all above the shoulders and it has to do with attitude and coaching strategies.

Less than 20%.

We are sooo far away from the finals. Slight reality check guys.

You've been quoted. And how many years away do you think we are from finals?

Posted

We are currently in an on field position now, almost identical to that of Hawthorn 3 years ago.

For a serious challange at the top eight, I would say 2010 is the year. By that stage, we have the likes of Buckly, Garland, Warnock, Martin and Grimes, Morton with 2 or 3 years in the system and playing like superstars.

Then you have those like, Bate, Dunn, Brock, Chris A, Miller etc who have become dominate players and true leders of the club.

Beyond 2010, we have every chance at challanging for a flag.

(however, as I have noticed from previous posts by others in here, I might regret being quoted)

I`d say 50 50

You only have to go back to `98 to see it can be done.

My major worry is if we can kick enough goals

Whilst i went for NN earlier in the year i`m now looking at Watts for that reason

It`s certainly possible !

Hope im wrong in the right way

50/50

I said 40%, but I was going to go 50%. I reckon we're playing exciting footy & we can definitely find the ball. We just have to polish the skills & keep possession. Reduce the errors/clangers significantly.

If we can do this, we'll win a hell of a lot more games next year.

Well we have won 2 so far. It takes around 12- 13 wins to get into the finals. So a hell of a lot more would put us around 7-10 wins.

The year after that, perhaps, 12-15 games

if we dont make the Finals in 2009, we will go down fighting.

I have a feeling we will be the most exciting team in the comp next year.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
