Travis Johnstone loves being a Lion

Travis Johnstone said on Triple M Brisbane yesterday that he loves being a Lion and living on the Gold Coast and hopes to play with the Lions for at least another 5 years and play in a premiership team.

He loves surfing at Snapper with Simon Black and Luke Power and loves the laid back Gold Coast lifestyle that offers the best beaches and climate in Australia. He also said while Melbounre are trying to win a game, Brisbane are trying to win a premiership, and it's great playing with Jonathon Brown, the best player he's played with.

All the best TJ.

Why don't you ask him out on a date..... :P

Of course he is not going to say that he hates it up there and wants to move back to Melbourne....

Wouldnt expect him to say anything else at this stage of the season.

Will be interesting to see what comes of Trapper come October.

Call him lazy and whatever else, hes still a quality player and I would have him back at the MFC in a heartbeat. He'd flourish under DB.

Sylv - Move on son

TJ has & you need to also.

TJ had the world @ his feet being a No. 1 Draft pick but failed to get his head around what was required

to unleash his skills consistently. Sadly he will be remembered as a bloke who failed to make the most

of his talent & opportunities.

Start focusing on our new core midfield currently @ the club & don't forget to add Jack Grimes

& depending on how the draft unfolds we may even add Daniel Rich.

TJ is yesterday - No backward steps

Obviously we all have a fair amouint of respect for what Trapper did for the MFC during his time.

It is time to move on though. We have a young midfield coming on the rise.

He may have said he loves being a Lion, but that's not what he said 3 weeks ago wen he said he misses being a Demon!

Every1 thinks and is saying he is coming home in '09.

he's not coming back!!!!!!!!

He may want to come home but.

Alot can change in nearly 2 years.

What would we have to give up to get him.

Would he fit into our lineup.

Theres so much to look at, and we should never rule it out but it certainly wouldnt be a good move with the youth system we are using.

Buddy Franklin revealed the other day he supported Melbourne as a kid, so clearly he'll be playing for us next year too..could be a premiership for us next year with Judd and Franklin and Johnstone in the side...

*BUMP*

After seeing Brisbane's insipid and lazy response to their loss against MFC by collapsing against Essendon, I can see how TJ fits right in at Brisbane.

Brennan, Corrie and TJ for starters are to varying degrees talented but are masters of the easy option both with the ball and without it. They are a various times lazy, undisciplined and unaccountable. The lack of defensive pressure by Brisbane on Essendon was appalling.

Many years ago, TJ was brilliant at finding paths through contested traffic and as the rest of the field ahead opened to him like no other player, would find the best ball use options capped off with a spearing pass. He has lost that. And today he is an architect of the easy receive and just does not work hard enough with and without the ball.

Does anyone seriously think that TJ has improved his trade value one iota from what we got for him last year?

Has anyone seen the blinder of a game that would cause observers to sit up and take notice?

Or the change in attitude, with a hard-work ethic?

.........'fraid not.....

still relying on his sublime skills and others around him to do the work.

First of many good decisions made by DB since he arrived at the club.

Well they won't be winning a premiership as long as the Demons keep beating the Lions!

Good luck surfing TJ!

Cos, thats all you will enjoy up there.......................Browny has had it.

And we love him being a Lion.

Sure I miss Travis' classy runs off a backflank or ability to find the ball in space but the MFC playing squad are now a discplined bunch who have none of the lazy traits Travis consistently showed.

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
