Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Inspirational bit of play that was! He's doing it regularly now too. Great signs from big PJ who is having a great year. How good was the crowd also?! The sound from the members wing was amazing yesterday. Kudos to us all :D

It was Green who said it.

I've been PJ bandwagon member #1 since '05 (don't believe me? check my posts :)) and saw him play juniors, and not even i knew that he was in the top 5 at the club for speed! I knew he was quick for a big man, but not that quick...

Not to take anything away from PJ, who looks really quick over 50+ metres, but we really must have a slow list...

Jump in the queue Doggo. Its not PJ it's High Tower too.

From people i know, who know PJ, they have said he always had a lack of confidence in himself.

It seems like he is starting to see himself as a real player now.

He is really attacking the ball and the man, and showing he has skill, not only agility.

By the way, if Sherman was smart, he should have changed direction and headed off to the side, PJ most likely would have run by him, and Sherman could have gotten away. Not that i am compaining, i was inspired by the play.

The running goal by Miller in the first quarter demonstrated what i mean, he was running to goal and Patful was on his tail, Brad cut in and changed direction and Patful was gone. (was happily surprised by this piece of Miller's play, did not think he could do that)

On The Couch... They pumped up his tyres a HEAP...

That one act on Sunday would have made his trade price jump from about pick 60 or so, up to about 20 something (draft pick). Coaches would have salivated at a ruckman who can play forward that has that kind of pace and work ethic, and can drill them from 55. In his early twenties, he's gonna be attractive come trade time.

Not that I'd trade him. The guy has a future, those that backed him, take a bow... but only after Hightower takes one.

Absolutely fantastic. Similar to his run down against Sydney last year (or was it the year before) when he broke his collarbone. Gives his all - that's all you can ask for.

It was better than that.

He kicked the ball forward then - realising that it was in open space - chased down his own kick, arriving at the same moment as a Swan, dived on the loose ball = season ending shoulder injury.

Later, 50m penalty against Rivers for (cough cough) not throwing it straight back, Cameron Bruce match winning snap (again) = season back on track = finals appearance.

We were 0-3 going into that game. That entire 2006 season owes itself to PJ's glorious moment at the SCG that afternoon.

Couple that with his chase down on Sunday - cometh the hour cometh the man!!

The gutsiest part of that play IMO, was that he contested the next boundary throw-in with a dislocated shoulder. He was right next to the interchange gate, and could have come off straight away but a replacement wasn't ready, so he contested and won the hitout, before coming off. That's tough and selfless.

How bout how he broke his hand in the 1st quarter against the Cats in round 3, but went onto to have 19 disposals, 12 hitouts and be one of our better players for the match? Unbelievable determination.

Truly inspirational stuff.

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,
