  1. Adem will retire at the end of the year in my opinion. I think he knows his time hascome. However i just hope people dont think or remember him for his last few years. we need to remember him for his forst 8 or so seasons where he was in our best players almost every week. Where his skill, intelligence and leadership were so valuable. I certainly was confident whenever he was near the ball when he was in his prime. Definitely one of our best ever players.
  2. I am going to go with Bate. Having just watched the replay i realised how important he is too us. If we could have one just staying in the forward 50, and not leaving there, and then the other one roaming around the ground at will, then i would be over the moon. Every good bit of play (almost ever one) that happened in the second half, that led to goals, involved Bate in some way. His attack on the ball and the players was first rate,we all know he can mark and kick, but he shares the ball well and gets others involved too.
  3. I must say that Colin is one of my favourite players, i simply love what he COULD offer. Just waiting for him to consistently show it. About his ruck work, i have no problem with it, and i am sure it is a plan for the team.It just looks like nobody knows when he is going to do it. So when he does hit it forward, there is nobody there. There either needs to be more communication or some sort of signal, as i noticed 2 or 3 times in the first quarter when he did it that he hit it to nobody. I think it is a good idea when it works though.
  4. Wheatley has a great boot on him,it just seems on occassions that he goes through a bad patch and misses some targets. Having said that, he has been one of our best players for the season and it looks like he has improved on the areas he was often criticised for, such as not going hard at the ball and showing courage. He has shown great leadership too. Seems to be very popular within the team.
  5. I too would not be surprised if we won another 4 or 5 games. Iam still not sure whether i want to see us win or get good picks. I can say that i was extremely excited and anxious during the final quarter on the weekend. Either way I think we will still get a top 3 draft pick, and most likely pick up Watts, who by the sounds of it would be great for us. We need a big, big forward. All our other forwards are not big like Brown,Bradshaw, Roughead. A big crash and bash forward would be great.
  6. From people i know, who know PJ, they have said he always had a lack of confidence in himself. It seems like he is starting to see himself as a real player now. He is really attacking the ball and the man, and showing he has skill, not only agility. By the way, if Sherman was smart, he should have changed direction and headed off to the side, PJ most likely would have run by him, and Sherman could have gotten away. Not that i am compaining, i was inspired by the play. The running goal by Miller in the first quarter demonstrated what i mean, he was running to goal and Patful was on his tail, Brad cut in and changed direction and Patful was gone. (was happily surprised by this piece of Miller's play, did not think he could do that)
  7. I am having the same surgery as Brock in August. It is a fairly simple operation, but he will need to be in plaster for 4 to 6 weeks, depending on how it heals and how bad it is when they get into the operation. After that he will of course do all the rehab and be fine for next year. It is the sort of injury where you can put up with the pain and play, but the ligaments will never heal. Ligaments, once they stretch, dont go back. They need to be pulled back and tightened. Surgery is the only way they can heal. Also i love how he gets surgery straight away, while i, despite having private cover, need to wait 2 months to get in. (not that i want him to have wait)
  8. I would get either Voss or Ratten. I voted for Ratten though. I like the way he worked with the mid fielders when he was with the club, and he has now coached his own team. I am not against a coach coming straight from playing. I dont want Connolly, he has already failed at one club with a very good list, and it does not seem like he has much control of the club.
  9. I recall that Hawthorn are also giving away $1000 when you go to their games, i dont here anyone bad mouthing them about it.
