At least he doesn't play like him

That's what I'm afraid of. Lamb had a break out year in 2002 and people were saying he would be our backline general. Delisted a year later.

I was also thinking Goldsack of Collingwood as well. Looked like a gun of late draft pick last year, but has struggled this year(not sure if this is due to injury though).

He's ok.

Come on now, just admit you were wrong about him and that he's going to be a great player ;)

Nasher, Wheatley turned nearly every possession over. Sure he gets a lot of ball, too bad he can't use it.

Garland hit every disposal that I can remember, and was fantastic both down back and up on the wing. His pace keeps surprising me.

lamb managed to hold down full back that year, but he never showed the run, poise or skill that garland has shown of late did he?

Garland has been very impressive, hes tall, quick has good hands and can kick, may be similar to neitz where he starts career in defence and will go foward as his body develops.

Garland is now the best young key defender in the game, bar none.

He makes that goose Brown from Collingwood look like a right royal hack.

He's been a shining light this year, i'd like to say i saw it from the start but although i never called him a dud, i wasn't quite sure whether he was going to make it.

Along with Wona, Warnock, and Jones, he keeps me going to the footy with hope for the future.

Dont feel bad mate,

I remember him playing in Sydney when I went up there to watch us get a new bum inserted last year and he was very ordinary. Hold in mind he was overshadowed by Ricky Petterd who looked good in the same defeat. (please come back soon Ricky)

I dont remember if this was his first game, but it was one of his first. I'm sure he will see 08 as the start of his career, not his first couple of games.

love his endeavour (Warnock not far behind IMO).

I think it was his first, yeah. From memory, he was dropped after that game.

Petterd was indeed good in that game. He was BOG for Sandringham 2's on the weekend, so I think he'll get a run with Sandy (1s) this week.

The Lamb situation is more reminiscent of Warnock because they are both bloke-stoppers who help teammates but don't create going forward.

Garland has the ability to rebound, be a link in midfield, and drag his bloke up forward.

He's got more strings.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Garland and Petterd, not to mention Grimes, Frawley, Maric, Cheney, Zomer, Morton et al were recruited by CC in the last few years?

Way too early to make the call on CC's recruiting abilities.

There's definitely a future.

I dont understand players being rated when they haven't played an AFL game.

How does Grimes show potential when he hasn't even played a game of seniors footy on any level.

Grimes has shown leadership as a junior and has had real injury problems this year but until a player plays AFL football its all hype.

He looks too much like Chris Lamb. I'll wait to see how he goes next year to give my judgment.

I really really hope that I don't have to change my nic

I doubt it though

Colin is a multi faceted player and much to my delight 98% better than I judged him in his Sydney debut

I can't believe the improvement in this kid by rnd 2 I thought he would spend the rest of the year with Weetra in Sandy's 2's now he's playing like a gun. He's quick can play forward or back and is a good mark is a real find.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
